On a somewhat meaningful note...

Tell me why you come to Pixies... and what makes you keep coming back? Is it the pics... the games... the stimulating topics... the stories... chat... particular members... an escape from reality? What is your reason ??

I imagine that the reasons that may be posted here will be as diverse as the members who call this place home....

Mine?

I first found Pixies while on a search for erotica... I read the stories for months before I ever took the plunge and hit the message board link... I keep coming back for numerous reasons (including the wonderful people I have gotten to know) and the feeling I get of being able to show parts (literately and figuratively) of myself that I can't share with most people.

so what are your reasons?

I found this site looking for info on elves and fairies for a project for my first semester of full time college at 32 years old. I had spent the previous decade working for a church where I had to hide many aspects of my personality and definitely my desires. Then in school I was surrounded by some bright young, intelligent people but mostly self serving slackers who I could find little common interest with, not to mention I was old enough to be their mother:rolleyes:. Then I found here.... and the people that accepted me just how I was, mouthy, bitchy, warts and all. The place/people who wave their freak flags proudly and are willing to share them with someone who has not found their's yet. The place where there are people who share their thoughts, sorrows, joys, and sexuality. This is the place that has allowed me the freedom to be me.....not always the me people wish I would be but the me I spent so much time trying to cover up. I come here because the people that I love and care for are here.

I too found Pixies while on a search for erotica...and read the stories for a while and then moved into the threads....I come back for the people...I can be myself with everyone here and no one judges me and I find out that I am not the only nut in the basket. It is my get away from reality.

Erotica here, too, but the discussions kept me coming back. When I first joined, I was wondering about a guy I was dating and got some great advice. I figured I'd stick around and try to return the favour!

My ex used to get stories from the site and would occasionally try to get me to go on to choose one for us to read together. Even that used to terrify me, but when I was on my own, I got over my fear and for a long time just read the stories, then finally decided to explore further.

I'd never even heard of a message board, and to this day this is the only site I've ever contributed to. It has definitely been a learning curve for me.

I stick around, because this place is a lot like my real life circle of friends: different ages/ backgrounds, some single, some married, but all intelligent and articulate and interested in discussion about everything. It has the same quality of openness which allows me to be myself, and I find this pretty rare.

Plus I'm a self confessed pic posting addict! Lol

I've said this in another thread. It's all xanne's fault. Bumped into her on the old chatroom sever, she told me about the pics, I registered, and lurked for a long long time. Not really into the pics anymore, you guys all know I'm not going to post, and looking at all the lucky people just gets me depressed.

My husband visited several different sex sites. I knew this because he'd sometimes forget to clear his documents and history. Not that I snooped..................well.....ok, I snooped once in a while. But I was curious as to why everytime I came into the computer/living room his page would disappear and he would go to desktop. One Sunday he showed me all the sites he visited. I sat on his lap as he paged through forums on a few sites and then he got to Pixies. He was going to gloss over this site too but I could tell it was different than the others. I checked out everything. I liked what I saw. I could feel the friendliness and sexiness and the humor. I told him we should get a nic together. We did. I stayed the rest of the day, just checking out every nook and cranny of this place. He told me he didn't think I would like that he visited these sites and felt he should hide them. I was shocked and told him so. I was shocked that he thought I would be shocked that he liked these sites.......I loved this one and he should have known I would have. He created a monster that day!

I'm another who found the stories first...... then lurked for quite a while before I first posted. Even then I didn't post THAT much... it's only since I introduced Celticangel to Pixies that I've REALLY got into it... especially the games!!

Why I stayed? A lot of it was because of the reasons posted above:- friendly, sexy people talking about anything and everything under the sun!! Mostly though, cos of Sharni's "Hello" .... so all the drivel I've posted here over the months is TOTALLY down to her!! :D

Like Loulabelle, this is the only site to which I post. Even when it gets a little close to the bone, I enjoy other people's views from so many different perspectives.

Lilith wrote something once about our privileged playground and I agree with that. I have explored a lot of issues here that outside the anonymity would be somewhat taboo for a variety of cultural reasons. It still surprises me that some things are so taboo in the States which are not in the UK, and vice versa.

I came here for erotica as well. I have stayed because of the friendly atmosphere and interesting, engaging personalities (both male and female). I post nowhere else because I spend my online time here. It's good th know you all.

Like so many others I found Pixies looking for stories and then I found the forums and at that time you did not have to be a member to look at the pics :D. some time latter I became a member and would some time post a reply and as time went on I started posting more and more :p I don't look at the pics as much as I used to but I do play Smut Games and cruise the chat forums more now ;)

The people are what make Pixies so special. I feel like I've got a whole family of friends here ... people that are fun, fun-loving ... but also very caring. It's a combination I've found no where else on the web and that you don't find many places in life as a whole.

Of course the pictures and games are nice too. And, the sex news clips Lilith comes up with. Of course .... oh heck ... you know what I mean. :D

I found it from some pop-up that I actually read before I closed it... on it there were a bunch of links, and one was for here. Found it, liked it, and stayed. I don't post a heck of a lot, but I can say that the people here appear to be rather genuine. None of the stupid BS that occurs on most of the chat/discussion sites that I frequent and that is fine by me.... you can post a message on pretty much just about any topic and you will get replies that are actually thought out and not just some dumb-ass poking fun or being stupid. That's what makes this place great.

All in all, the people here are pretty cool.

One day my boyfriend asked me if I thought I would ever post nude pictures of myself on the web.I think I said something like... I don't think so, really not sure if it would be something I would get into or not. I asked if it was something he would do and he said definitely...and mentioned this site. He said he knew of a really cool place where the people were "real" and where he would love to post some couples shots of us someday. We talked a bit more about this sort of thing off and on but I had forgotten the name of this site. One day while we were in an IM conversation he brought up the site again, but didn't name it this time, just said he was playing some games. I of course was intrigued, and he said "maybe someday I'll show you the site." Impatient thing that I am, I couldn't wait, and used my powers of investigation...hehehe...to find out where he was perving. And low and behold I found pixies....He had laid out all the hints I needed to find the place:D I was immediately drawn in and joined and posted my very first visit. About a month later little old me found out that she even liked the idea of baring herself to all of you wonderful people;) So I guess you could say he created a pixieaholic when he shared this site with me! I don't think he expected it but I certainly don't think he was surprised by it either. So here I am still a relative newbie, but definitely a junkie.:D
