I haven't seen the news in a couple days and was so saddened by the death of Gregory Hines. I was wondering if, aside from club dancing, any of you can dance? And if so what kind of dancing can/do you do?

I too was saddened to hear of Mr. Hines passing. He was extraordinary in his dancing... and his acting was too bad either. I remember watching him in White Nights when I was younger and wishing I had talent like that.... guess not all of us are meant to have such a gift... I am just glad that he shared his.....

My wife used to do ballet and even taught it at one time. Learned to really love ballet and modern interpretive dancing with her as my influence. :D
My dancing is just social with my wife.

I love to dance, granted I probably look like a pregnant yak on rollerskates, but I love it none the less. I like to go club dancing but I've been known to do some country two-stepping, ball room and salsa. (You just have to love Salsa!!)

Two step, three step, waltz and jitterbug mostly. I do a little line dancing from time to time ... and a little ghetto butt shaking if I've had too much to drink. :)

Generally I'll only dance at weddings...which I did last night!! I don't go out clubbing, but I'd imagine that dancing is pretty similar...other than the required wedding party slow dance, it was bumping and griding all night! I'm just hoping that things progress with my groomsman! ;)

Woohoo for BCG. :)
I can only waltz but would love to learn more. Vicious Tease, I don't need the alcohol to do the ghetto butt shaking...come north and we'll go out sometime. ;)

I love to dance......I just don't get the opportunity as much anymore! Hubby isn't the best dancer on the planet (she said, remembering how big an understatement that is)!

Big fan of Gregory Hines.Loved him in The Cotton Club.Sad to hear the news.I got two left feet as well as my left wings. The only danceing I am 1/2 way competent at is a slooooooow dance with my partner held too close.I'd like to learn the Horizontal Hula, Was the teacher's name,KUMIWANNALAYYA?
Count me in as another saddened by the loss of Mr. Hines.
As far as my own personal dancing expertise... I think I saw Breakin' 2 Electric Boogaloo on opening day. Backspin anyone? :p

Sorry to hear about ;( Gregory Hines ,,,, I use to dance all kinds, waltz, slow dance, even the old square dance, and every thing in between,, kinda miss lately,, my wife/friend/universe,, became disabled about 5yrs ago from MS,, but she can still stand enough to slow dance so I dance whenever possible with her. Its incredible to beable to dance with someone you care about,, so people in Pixieland dont pass up any chance you get to enjoy a dance

My heart cracked a little when I saw the note about Gregory Hines...not only did his dancing make me smile, but he LOOKED like he enjoyed every minute of it. From that, may I learn that it is important to let how much I love my job show that it might in turn inspire others.
I love to dance. I'm not necessarily any good at it, mind. And I've never ever actually taken a class. But play music, give me the least bit of encouragement...and I'll dance all night, and enjoy every minute of it.
