A quick update for those who care...still unemployed, & still battling a lot of pain...which makes it impossible for me enjoy my time here. There is some good news, (no, I didn't save a bunch of money by switching to GEICO!) just got the results of my lastest blood work, & my diabetes is under control (A1C was 4.5, fellow diabetics know that's good), my cholesteral is 145 (after a breakfast of bacon & eggs no less), liver checks out ok, & "seds rate"(?) shows no major inflamation...so the bad news? over 6 months, a half dozen different docs, & I have no idea why I'm in pain & fatigued all the time, & no relief in sight...I'm terribly frustrated, been thru lots of tests, inc. a cystoscopy (guys who know what that is are crossing their legs or squirming in their seats now...you don't wanna know), so much blood work I feel like I've been down Vampire Alley...even resorting to seeing an accupuncturist, a whole 'nother experience...not sleeping well at night cuz of the pain, & I'm really cranky all the time...doesn't take much to set me off when I hurt all over...so anyways, that's my story for now, hope to have better news soon, I miss you all...

P.S. one other bit of news in my life...I found out I have another family member I didn't know about...seems my dear departed mother got pregnant in her teens, & gave up her baby for adoption, & never told anybody...TN opened up the adoption laws last year, & my half-sister was able to track me down...after getting over the initial shock, I've spent a lot of time on the phone & e-mail with her, sharing whatever family history I can with her...just goes to show, ya never know...

YEAH! YEAH!….. you show up now because the holidays are coming and you think I’ll get you a present again this year. (You thought that last year.) ;)

Heah pal, I’m glad to hear the good news of having some defined things under control. I truly hope you get the rest worked out soon buddy. I need your help and want you back here to protect me from Steph. And I'm so happy for you and your half-sis. That must be a very different experience. Give her my address and I'll be happy to fill her in on what kind of guy you are. lmao

Get it together bro.:)

Scotzoidman,

I’m sorry to learn of your medical difficulties, and I hope that the chronic pain will soon stop (although you probably hope for that more than I). I am pleased to hear that your diabetes is under control. Sure hope you recover (to your satisfaction, not the doctors’) your health soon.

It must feel strange to discover as an adult that you have a sibling. I guess it changes how you see your mom.

Oh (((((((((((Scotz)))))))))))))))! I'm was sooooooo happy to see you logged in......as a matter of fact I fainted! I wish you had had a moment to come to chat so I could coo at you....but I understand why you didn't and I'm sorry to hear that you are in pain! Starting to feel like a pin cushion by now, I assume. Geezzzzzz, I am holding good thoughts for them to find a diagnosis soon and get you back up to par again! Don't give up babe.....go and see as many doc's as need be and sooner or later you will find one who can tell you what it is that is ailing you. Great news of your blood sugar and cholesterol! I really, really miss you.....I mean really, really! And...I wish you a sure diagnosis soon and I'll keep you close in my thoughts! Also, it's so good to see your wonderful sense of humor come shining through, even in your condition (the Geico reference...lmao!)! Also....because I am so concerned I've been perusing books and was wondering....have the doctors checked you for "peripheral neuropathy"? I'm not a doctor.....but this condition can affect diabetics...and, well.....it's just a thought! BTW......(((((you and your new found sister))))))))!!!!!!! WOW!

*gentle hugs n kisses*

Scotz---No,I didn't even come close to fainting! It may sound stupid
to others,but I have diabetes & diabetic neuropothy & I know that
it is hard to get your blood sugar under control.People that don't
understand don't realise that carbohydrates mean alot to controling it also, not just sugar intake.Congratulations on that.
Don't give up on the pain research. They have been trying to find
my pain problem, since a "botched" back operation,by Yale New
Haven Hospital in 1970.Everytime,I think,that it's over,the pain
comes back.Just hang in there! Irish

It's a shit when the docs can tell you all the things that aren't

wrong with you, and can't work out what is. There is a bug out here

called the Ross River Virus that has similar presentation.

Maybe there is a similar virus in TN.

Get well soon as we are behind in the SOFA development.

Heya Scotz!!!!!!! Good to see you again, and thanks for the update - I was wonderin' how you were getting on!

Glad your diabetes is under control! Sorry to hear that you're in pain and the docs don't know what's wrong - that's a bugger! My thoughts and prayers are with you mate.

The half-sister sounds quite exciting! Glad you've talked heaps with her and are sharing the family history with her.

Once again, my thoughts and prayers are with you, I hope everything works out quickly and for the best!
