View Full Version : Man on the moon...

So the other night my friend pipes up and says, " So, have you heard that some people are questioning whether or not we actually landed on the moon?" After blinking for half a minute I finally managed to ask if they had really never heard that before. I thought that it was common knowledge that some people think it was staged in a Hollywood studio.

So, how many of you you have read the arguments? Have you changed your mind one way or the other?

As for me, there are some things I would question my Gov't about, but the moon landing is not one of them. I think with the number of people involved, someone would have come forward and blown the whistle by now, if it were fake.

Aqua~ Honestly I have never in my life heard that concept. Maybe because its because I am fairly young. But I figure it this way, if we have the technology to make half the movies that we have now....then we should have landed on the moon by now.

Well there are white supremicist groups who think the Holocaust was staged too:spin:

I wouldn't put it past them to "wag the dog" with the space program. And if they did...well, it worked like a charm cause they've managed to bilk a bajillion dollars out of our pockets to further space exploration. Unless they aren't doing anything! Maybe those blastoffs were just holograms like they used to use on Scooby Doo! Those Bastards! I bet the Mar's rovers aren't even real! They're probably just taking pictures of red rocks out in Sedona, AZ!

<---runs off to start wallpapering his house with aluminum foil. They are definately coming after me for this little outburst!

I've never doubted we landed on the moon. But to expand on what Babybunny said...if we'd applied the technology we have in home theatres, cellphones, and stuff like that we'd have landed on Pluto by now!

Well you see DM, there was this debate as to whether or not the moon was made of green cheese. So JFK, being one stubborn SOB, got the moon mission rolling along because he was determined to win the argument.

Aqua,

I don’t have the references for this, but yes, I have heard that there is group – probably akin to (if not composed of) those white supremacists, who truly do believe that the moon landings were staged.

NASA had at one point, contracted with a science writer to prepare a refutation, but reversed itself when someone pointed out that such an effort would reinforce the notion that it was a put-up job, and now the government was financing the cover up, in just the same way as they have with Area 51.

Sad but true.

I've heard the concept before, and I have a theory. I believe we walked on the moon. However, I question whether or not the 'actual' footage was real. It very likely is real, but I think it could be plausible that the footage itself was staged for show. Not probable, but plausible.

Who'd be left behind to squash bugs and open tight jars?

OMG! So....this is a bug squashing thread now? LMFAO!

Can you say....attention deficit disorder?

My answer to the initial questions is......if the Red Hot Chile Peppers sang about it.....it has to be true!

Oh...wait....that doesn't support a thing!

Um.....ok....I DO believe we landed on the moon....but I could never figure out how that camera person (the one that took all the, now famous, footage.....got there first!!??). I mean.....if it was a stationary camera on a tri-pod, then someone is lying as to earth[lings] actually witnessing "the first step" on the surface! I remember that day....we all tuned in to watch....and *flicker, flicker, flicker*...there was an astronaut.....back stepping down the stairs.....a foot hoovers....touches the ground...."One small step for man....*static*....One giant leap for mankind"....*crackle, crackle....static*.....and Houston cheers!

I ask you......who was taking the footage? How'd the camera get outside the ship?

*waits for PF to come running in here sideways to explain* LOL!

P.S.....I also heard the rumors that the backgrounds in most all still pics was one and the same...but with the astronauts in different positions (or was that vice-versa?)........yada, yada, yada!

I believe, and I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure there was a camera mounted outside the landing module.

Well why else would we go to the moon? To hunt for WMD, of course.

My reliable sources at the highest pinnacles of government in Washington (the washroom attendant at the Senate cafeteria) informs me that the second series of moon excursions is already well underway and has furnished me visible evidence, which I dutifully pass onto this forum. Hey, this is real secret stuff!

thedog,

Damn! I want one of those space ships! I'll bet it is easy to score with the chicks when you pull up in one of those!

From the cirriculum at Charleston County (SC) Schools, Man has indeed walked on the moon, and don't ya'll doubt!

Tess,

That's one of the less well known pics from the NASA archive.

have we all heard they're thinking of going back?

I wouldn't be that difficult. Stage the astronautes in the desert, 3 fake ones to get on the appolo, then sneak off prior to launch.

Then transmit the audio and video back to Houston via satalite. Only a very few would have to know.....

Then there is the flag question. The American Flag that was planted on the moons surface is flapping in the wind. How can that be?

Tess
02-09-2004, 07:37 PM
Stiff wire at the top of the flag to keep it unfurled.

Of course it's true. Didn't you see Independence Day? When that big ol' alien craft flew over the moon and it showed the flag there and everything. Now you know if you see it in a Hollywood production, then it has to be the truth.

Lixy, I think the camerman was from one of the networks ... they always seem to be a step ahead on things like that.

Can we get back to the bug squishing? :)
