They did have a much longer rest, however. We'll have to see how Jarome and the boys hold up!

There's a poll on the Globe and Mail's Web site today. Our prime minister announced we're having a federal election on Sunday.

Which are you following more closely?

The federal election 49%
The Stanley Cup finals 51%

LOL The Globe is quite conservative and I thought far more people would be voting for the election!

Steph,
You & I both know the only reason the election scored so high in that particular poll is because it was conducted by the Globe.

(Go, TB, who have evened the series at two games apice).

OK, so now it's tied at three games a piece. And no, Calgary didn't score in the last few minutes of regulation.

Game 7 should be a good one.

It was BRUTAL last night! I left work when the first period of OT ended and after the drive, dog walking, etc. I turn on the TV only to see Tampa players hugging.

If they had won last night, Calgary was expecting over 100,000 people to celebrate downtown.

Noooooooooooooooooo part two

Florida?

Ice?

Tampa?

I can only console myself in knowing they are interviewing Canadians who are on the Tampa team.

There are more Canucks on the Tampa team than Florida.

Leafs in 2005

That having been said:

Amazing how the American fans don't make the outcome about "America" vs. "Canada"............

Had Calgary won, I don't think there would be a lot of "at least there were some Americans on the team" being heard.

I don't give a rat's ass whether the winner or loser was Canadian or American. I rooted for Tampa Bay in the Finals because I didn't like the way Calgary played. But their type of game is a Brian Sutter trademark. If you can't beat 'em, go out and try to hurt 'em. And if that doesn't work, then whine about the officiating. He coached that way in Chicago years ago and nothing's changed. I don't have an anti-Canadian team bias. Once the Wings were out, I was really rooting for Toronto. They haven't won in close to 40 yrs. But they'll do it eventually. The Wings waited 42 years between wins, so Toronto can wait another year or two.

With TB winning, Dave Andreychuk (sp?) a former Maple Leaf, finally got to hoist the Cup after 22 yrs in the league. You have to be happy for him. I know I am.

It's bittersweet. We haven't had a Canadian team win in sooooo long and we were soooooo close. Plus, the Flames were an underdog team, Iginla impressed on the international stage . . . so many things going for them to capture the hearts of Canadians.

Being in Michigan and all, I'm a Red Wings fan. That said, they need to shape the team back up, and get in some new talent. The old talent is... well, old.
