Anyone see The Day After Tomorrow this weekend? I just went to try, and it was sold out. :( I decided on the way that I see entirly way too many movies.
Soul Plane came out this weekend, as well as Raising Helen, Saved!, The Mother, and Time of the Wolf.
I did see Raising Helen and enjoyed it. Saved! looks... well, has anyone here seen Election with Reese Witherspoon? It looks like that.

I went to see it Thursday afternoon in a preview showing - only 12 other people in the cinema. Really enjoyed it. I went to see Troy the same afternoon and was a little disappointed - it seem slow to me and as for Paris (Orlando Bloom) he seemed a little typecast seeing as they made him good with a bow again.

Brad Pitt (and assorted other men) were unbelievably hot in Troy......but if you know the story of the Iliad it'll drive you crazy! I spent the entire film going "that didn't happen then!!!"

Yeah, my whole thoughts on Troy was that it was very entertaining, but the time line was fucked with majorly. It took what, like 2 years for it to all happen??

Ann Arbor is about 2.5 hours southeast of us, closer to Detroit, and home of U of M. ;)
We're smack dab in the middle of the mitten, home to Central Michigan U.

I did get to see The Day after Tomorrow on Saturday. I enjoyed it even with certain problems I noticed(sucks being into Earth Science). It was good and does need to be seen in the theater.

Yeah, there's been a few reports released into the validity of the movie. I remember back when Jurassic Park came out, scientists did the same thing.
Hell, it's a fictional entrtainment peice. That's all I look at it as. Sure, it's not plausible, but what movies are? ID4? T3? Star Wars?

I went and saw Van Helsing. I thought they did a good job with it. It's hard to go wrong with Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale.(loved her in Underworld!)
There's something about a sexy woman who can kick some serious ass!
