When we moved into our house, last September, the people next to us were getting ready to move out. The same guy owns both and rents them out. Anyway, through the course of the winter, he managed to rent it out twice. First time, the people were there maybe 2 weeks, before getting kicked out. Next time, the people backed out of the lease. Then, it sat empty until the end of May. I was begining to wonder if the place wasn't cursed. ;)
So, just before Memorial Day Weekend, the new couple moves in. Now, I haven't met them yet, but for some reason, I just really didn't like em much. They just bugged me, for no specific reason.
Well, last night, they gave me a reason. We went to bed around 12:45, after watching the Piston's game, and once we got all settled into bed, we realized that we could hear talking.. a lot of talking. So, I turned out the lights so I could see out the window, and I noticed what looked like maybe 3 or 4 people on the back patio at the neighboors house, all talking, laughing, having a merry time.
So, we tossed in a movie and tried to ignore it. At 1, it was getting louder, so I went outside, and very nicely said hello, and mentioned that it was 1am, and asked if they could keep it down.
Now, I am NOT someone who will do that. I'll grit my teeth, and bitch about it, but I am SOO non-confrontational. So, after that, they did quiet down. Oh, and there wasn't 3 or 4. There was more like 12.
So, it got quiet, and other than a few loud laughs here and there, it wasn't bad at all. Until around 2, when the noise level just kinda creeped up, and got loud again.
Shortly after that, they went inside, where we could hear music playing. Then, two teeny bopper girls, maybe 18 or 19, came out back to smoke. It was like they were at a rock concert, for how loudly they were talking, and laughing.
So, Nick asked them to quiet down, and after a few minutes, they went back inside.
Around 3:30, more came outside, to which I finally just turned on a movie to drown them out.
But seriously, it's a freakin tuesday night! Who doesn't have the sense to recall that most people WORK on weekdays?
I sincerrly hope this doesn't become habit for them, because next time, I'll call the cops first (since I'm pretty sure there was underage drinking going on), and I'll call the landlord second. When we moved in, he made a point of saying he won't rent to college kids, that he likes families, and older people, because they will take care of the places. I reallllllllly hope these people quiet down.
