View Full Version : Can't stop having fun!

Ever since I applied for a Tussauds Annual Pass at the end of March, I've never had so much fun in a long time! It cost me only £80 for a whole year, and gives you access to all on Tussauds' attractions in the UK, with a limit of 52 visits for the year. I use it mainly for Chessington World Of Adventures, Alton Towers and Madame Tussauds (Warwick Castle and Thorpe Park are the only 2 I hardly ever use it for).

Regularly I go back to Chessington World Of Adventures for a ride on my own if I have some free time at home and am bored (and don't fancy a wank). But usually I go with a mate who also has an Annual Pass. It's the closest theme park to me. But ever since I started going in early April, I've had more fun than ever before, and just don't want it to end when the parks close at the beginning of November! I ride the rides kinda "exploring" the surroundings and trying to get every last detail of the behind the scenes, etc etc etc. You can see where I'm coming from.

Recently, I had my first ever ride on Dragon's Fury, the world's first spinning rollercoaster. And what did I think? Fucking brilliant! Loved it. About as good as Vampire, a hanging rollercoaster. None of them go upside down but Dragon's Fury does do this "horseshoe" turn up in the air. UK viewers here at Pixies may know what I'm on about with ride names, but others might not.

Vampire is my favourite ride. Infact, Transylvania is my favourite area, what with the Count's Cauldron McDonald's And as for Professor Burp's Bubbleworks, well...fantastic! Great theming and a good laugh. Then there's the Rattlesnake in which I have overcome my fear of. And the same goes for the Dragon Falls ride, previously known as Dragon River. Safari Skyway's OK. And Hocus Pocus Hall is a good laugh too. Tomb Blaster I can only do once a visit to the park. Compared to last year, I have made a lot of additions to what I like to ride - and why? Because I visit so much and so often!

This year alone, I've lost track of how many times I've been so far. My next visit must be the 6th or 7th with a mate, and maybe the 10th in total (as I sometimes visit on my own). And having the maintenance chums come down to the builder's merchant where I work 5 miles away is good too, as I always take an interest in what's going on.

I mean, how the fuck they removed Samurai last November amazes me, from the pictures I've seen. And I've recently heard that in the next 2 or 3 years, Rameses Revenge (which I've never ridden and don't intend to) will be given it's marching orders. Also, plans for a hotel are currently going through and a hotel should be sitting on the outskirts of the park's main border before 2010.

Also, during the closed season they take ride carriages away and check them by pros in the workshops. All except Rameses Revenge, where they put scaffolding over it to check it over. They also repair and improve things too, like painting and replacing fences, stuff like that. Anything major that needs putting right is done in the closed season.

On a visit there just over a month ago, I tried Sumo-Bungee - one of those bungees where it controls you from 4 corners. It sits where Samurai used to be, so in the last year has gone from one of the loudest and daring parts of the theme park to one of the most quietest. It's on the corner of a bend of Dragon Falls after you come down the main drop. On Sumo-Bungee, I was talking to a guy who worked there. He was telling me that the pay wasn't the best but the job was so enjoyable. In the mornings you're just told to go and set up a ride, and run it for the day, and you can ejoy talking to the public and your colleagues, and get no shit from bosses all day. Plus the fact it's practical. I'd love to do this work on a decent salary, but I won't change from what I'm in right now, because I have a good salary that gets me through and changing would mean me earning less, and plus the fact, I'd rather just visit visit visit - I kinda feel working there would ruin my visits and fun.

:D So, who else here is a theme park enthusiast, like me?
