As everyone must know by now the planet had a deep sea earthquake that has devastated over a million lives, and the rising death toll at last report was well over 23,000.
The 9.0 quake caused the tsunami that brought on all of the above and more but get this.....
Here in california, as i'm watching a local bay area broadcast network station the news caster relays all this truly heartwrenching information, repleat with live aftermath video. And then, And Then follows the story with this piece about how uncomfortable and and inconvenienced the holiday air patrons were by having to wait at various airports for as long as (choke, GAG!!) 12-14 hours because of delays.
OMFG!!! I just couldn't believe my eyes and ears I mean how on earth could they have been so incredibly insensitive and callous?!!?? O.K. so a few thousand travelers had to wait around in a warm, dry, airport, I am both flabbergasted and disgusted by the sheer gall of an increasingly cold-hearted greedy inhuman media. What did they do with all the honest newspeople?
You remember the, the kind who would do a piece because it would raise awareness to the world in general, or because it was so attrocious that it had to be shared with joe q public in order to prevent it from growing into something even worse. I thought that i would be speechless but apparently I'm not nor should anyone anywhere ever hold out when real life is happening all around us. We are capable of so much more than the achievments of the individual or the accumulation of the corporation or the success (or failure) of this polital party or that.
The level of our ability to be not only sensitive to one another but to assist one another in the quest for spiritual or religious enlightenment is only exceeded by our propensity to be paranoid and greedy little pieces of worthless flesh. I am alternately struck by our ability to assist our fellow homosapien and then turn around and condone killing in the name of the very faiths and religions that we purpote to "believe" in!
Ok I think i've come to the end of this rant and you all get the general drift of what I'm saying so that's it for now
Sincerly Hoping that We All Find Faith/Enlightenment at the same moment in time boilergirl1 or also known as Schelagh

I hear ya boilergirl1!

I don't rightly blame the newsperson[s] themselves, persay...as they are reading what is set before them on the teleprompter. But, if I am correct...the newsperson does have a chance to review his/her reports for their particular segment[s] and should speak out if something seems askew. Segue is everything in communication! This leads me to my suspicions that news reporters don't really absorb what they are reporting...but are just puppets who speak the words and make sure (at least some of the time) that they are pronouncing names and places correctly.

So, who IS actually responsible for the content and segue's? The director or producer of each broadcast? I don't know enough about reporting to answer that...but some heads should be on the block for content and segue of most broadcasts of the human nature...and especially the one you drew us a picture for!!!

My heart goes out to all those involved in this traumatic event...and my thoughts are with them as they struggle to recover from it's devastation!!!

I believe their phrase is, "if it bleeds, it leads"
When we excersize our right to censor content by changing the channel in droves, the ratings will send them the message...

I was once in the presence of someone who had just had their "third eye" opened and who was channeling at an insane rate i know there are those of you who don't believe in this sort of thing and i'm cool with that i wont try to convert you if you don't try to convert me. ok? anyway this guy was channeling and that particular day he asked me if there was anything i wanted to ask of those from our past who had his mind in their grasp with which to communicate with, i said yes but i wanted to make sure it was a question that was worthy so i asked that he let me wait a day to think it over he/they agreed and i slept on it. the next day when we crossed paths again he/they didn't even wait for me to ask the question he simply gave me the answer. The answer being that indeed all of the women in my immediate family (mother, sister, daughter) wer born of ancient egyptian bloodlines and that we would forever be linked to one another because of it..
The thing about this that struck me most is that i hadn't utter a word when he layed that on me and it was my grandmothers voice that came from his mouth. secondly this happened under the most casual of settings not some formal sit down or in some place where he might stand to gain. he did not ask for anything at all in return for this encounter and i witnessed his condition for a total of 31/2 days with only his friend from india to guide him. say what you will but he didn't know me or my family and it was my grandmothers voice. on a public st in stockton cal
so that's the egypt part as for calif am in monterey for now will be in northern washington this time next month not the answer you expected eh?

There is actually a team of people responsible for the content of a news report but the order is always determined by the producer.

The more appropriate thing would be to go to related stories (This is called a package) and then to commercail.

I think I was still in high school when I decided that the big three were just telling lies to us and it wasn't just a few short yrs later during the good ol reagan days(she say sarcastically) here in california that the rest of the american press went too. It makes my heart sad to think that we as humans are so completely inept at communicating with eachother and the world at large. It's probably the main reason that we still have so many wars and so little peace. All this technology and still no brains with souls that care.
(wanders off shaking head sadly)
