Angellic Vampire's date thread got me thinking about the advice my mom gave me about boys growing up. I wonder if you had good, bad, or crazy advice about the opposite sex when growing up. Was it from friends, family? What were you told?

Never really discussed sex or any of that with mom. Boys were to be dated and rarely kissed. She was a real...well, something else. She even dug out my diary that I had stashed under my mattress in the middle of the bed. I think, for her, sex was dirty. And, I've been trying to overcome that for a long time.
