Well...on top of the cold I woke up this morning with what I suspect is an eye infection. My eye is red and sore, and this thick goop keeps building up in the corner. My vision is a bit fuzzy, but it's mostly because of the thick goop (I think).
I'm headed to the Dr. tomorrow am ASAP -- but my health insurance does not cover urgent care (unless it's life threatening) and I can't afford to spend $$ unless I absolutely have to.
So I'm wondering....
Does anyone have any suggestions on over the counter solutions that can give me some temporary relief until I can get into the Dr?
Thanks for any help.

Sounds like pink eye.....
Until you get to the doc for antibiotic drops try using a bit of polysporin cream. It feels yucky but it does help until you see a doc..........

Why not go along to your pharmacist and ask them what they think?
You don't want to take any risks with eye infections though....if it turns out to be conjuctivitis it can be quite serious if left untreated.

Thanks to the Nickster...who woulda known a dog knew so much about eye infections? :) ((((Bibi))))
And Lou, you're right. I've found religion and will be into the Dr ASAP tomorrow. Pharmacy opens in 45 min and I'm headed there then.....I'll pick up some polysporin too.
Thanks.

BTW both can be caused by strep infections so it sounds like you could really use some oral antibiotics, sounds like it's systemic. Are you running a temp?

I was until last night...about 100F or so for 3 days straight, even after regular doses of Tylenol. I didn't have one this monring, though...so I was hopeful until I woke up enough to tell that my eye was messed up.
:(
You might be right about the systemic nature of this thing

Took a nap, woke up, and the eye was swollen shut and leaking yucky stuff.
Mr Osuche insisted on taking me to the urgent care...and after waiting for 4 hours to be seen....I do have pink eye. <sigh>
And an ear infection, and a trroat infection, and a bowel infection. And it's all viral, so he claims there's little I can do -- other than wait it out over the next 2-4 days. :(
<sigh>
(((((osuche)))))))
I'm praying you have a quick recovery from all this nasty viral business.
Get well soon!

If you get the antibiotics...I'll take care of the other part. ;)
After you feel better, of course. Rest up and take care of yourself.

Thanks Aqua and WI....been feeling a bit sorry with myself. Of course, feeling like Typhoid Mary will do that to you. :(
As for the oral antibiotics...I like the idea of them being administered...ummmm....orally. :D
