Jeane Kirkpatrick, the first female U.S. ambassador to UN, died yesterday. She was 80 years old.

She served at the UN from 1981 to 1985, and was later a member of President Reagan's cabinet. Although she began her public life as a Democrat, Mrs Kirkpatrick became foreign policy adviser to Ronald Reagan during his 1980 presidential campaign

Before entering politics, Dr Kirkpatrick was a professor of political science at Georgetown University.

RIP madam.

Jude30 & Mae,

Thank you! I had forgotten about her "Mujahideen Mama" role!

If I had any idea what you were talking about I'd nod wisely and agree.

Instead, WTF??

OF,
I guessing that the irreverent & politically incorrect daily comic, "Bloom County" may not have invaded your shores...another example of how Oz misses out on a few good things from Up Over...Bill the Cat was a scraggly semi-comatose spoof of Garfield, who had the hots for the stunning(!?!) Mrs. Kirkpatrick...
