For a moment I thought it was a WildIrish beat-up, "You too can sheep with a cow".
Diversity?

ok.... here it is.
"Be America's Best Quick-Service Restaurant"
I'm curious, what's to disagree with?
I'm not promoting it, just curious with why you don't agree?
Bad experience? Work for a competitor? what?
All-in-all it's a pretty ambiguous statement.

They are a Mormon based restaurant chain I believe. Perhaps that is where he finds fault.

I'm sorry their "Corporate Purpose".
Yeah I'm not too fond of Cracker Barrel either and their stance on homosexuality and other issues.
I try to give as little money as I can to right wing religious groups.

Jude,
I hope you weren't offended by my questions. If so please accept my apology. The last thing I want to do is start the year causing strife. Your comment about the mission statement got me curious, so I asked.
I'll be honest. I wasn't aware there was a religious affiliation with the chain. Knowing that they are based in the "bible belt" or close to it anyway, I'm not surprised that there is but, I wasn't aware that it was.

Some people like them because of their religious affiliations. I went to a conference not long ago and the woman on the bus was disgusted because I'm a Starbucks addict and they support homosexuals. I just smiled and said that I don't have a problem with who they support as long as they keep making a good cup of coffee. I feel the same about my chicken. ;)
Bummer I can't get one of the cows. My daughter collects cows.

There is a good sized Mormon population in my area and I was going to say what Tess did. I have friends who choose Chik-Fil-A because it supports causes friendly to their personal ideals and sticks to the no business transactions on Sunday rule.
Tess PM me your addy and I'll mail your kiddo my cow if it comes.

No I wasn't offended at all and should have made it more clear in my original post what I don't like about them.
I respect the fact that they give all their employees Sunday off, but any money I give them would end up (even in a microscopic amount) going into the coffers of organizations I really don't agree with.

Interesting thought about Starbucks.
Do they "support homosexuality" by positively discriminating in employment, sponsor a float in the gay pride march or just not throw them out of the shop for flouncing?
Male or female, or both?
An enquiring almost awake mind would love to know.
Their canned coffee was a lifesaver at Oshkosh.

"I surrendered my youth to the people I feared when I could have been out there loving someone. Don't make that mistake yourself. Life's too damn short."
Evidently having this quote on their cups is part of the problem.

Bah! Mr. Maupin was – and remains – quite correct. Life is much too short.

As far as I know they fully support women, minorities, and homosexuals. At my Starbucks one of their employees is transgendered and is undergoing the surgery to become a male. He told us last night that he will be entering the management training program and hopes to get his own store. Soooo??? :)

ACK! COWS!
I dunno if I wanna sleep with a cow....cows sleep standing up ^^;
Ya. The chicken place is huge here in GE-ORGE-A. It's because Truet Cathy, or whatever the hell his name is, the guy who started it, grew up here. Now, don't get me wrong, Chik-Fil-A makes a DAMN good chicken sandwhich...but they kinda such in most other ways. My fiance worked there for two years, because no one else in the area would hire her because she doesn't have a cousin down here to blow to get a job (Neither do I, which is why I have no job. I'm not bitter, noooo). They basicly treated her like shit because she didn't attend the church that the ENTIRE MANAGEMENT TEAM attended. It's one of those companies where if you conform and kiss ass, you get ahead, even if you can't even count to 10. But if you work your ass off, take pride in serving customers, and generally do a better job than others, but you don't do what everyone else does, you get fucked.
So yeah. I eat their chicken, but I do so while shaking my fists at them from a distance!
What? When I'm hungry, morals be damned!

I'm very upset about what I've learned from this thread.
Discrimination in any form is unacceptable and I won't spend my hard earned dollars or even harder earned time to support any of it!
I refuse to visit that site until there exists www.getasheep.com! :box:

Yeah, saw the offer through a different venue a couple of days ago. I took their advice, and punted on having a cow.

I was shocked too, I hadn't forgotten about it, but I just figured they ran out before my name appeared on the list.
Dinky little thing though! (oh well it was free)
