I don't know if rallying is "big" in the U.S., but it has become very popular in a lot of the world.

Last time I drove a rally car was 10 or 11 years ago, and it was only a little 1600c.c. twin-cam Talbot Sunbeam...... a lot less power and speed than what they have now!

Should be EXCELLENT fun!! :D

Well, I'm back....... and all in one piece, too!!

In all truth it is, of course, as safe as they can make it, so no real danger!! But BOY was it fun! We got four double runs, i.e. through the "stage" and back, followed by a single, "flying" assessment. The culmination of the experience (as they call it) was the returnleg driven by the instructor - awesomely fast, and WHAT a buzz!

Signed up to have a driven double-lap in a fully-specced Ford Focus ~ a wee bit faster than the Sierra Saphires we drove but, being front-whell drive, very different to actually drive.

A magical day..... and Yes, I'll be going back!

I should warn you guys, as part of the package the organisers take three photos of you, and I think one of them is while sitting in the (stationary) car just before "take off"........ and Herself forgot her camera, so that will be it!

Aqua, db... it is HUGE fun, my only complaint being it wasn't long enough! Funny thing is, it's improved my road driving massively - which I'm the first to admit, had got a bit, well lazy, of late. :(
