Remember, the USA was founded as a treason against HRH George III of England.

I agree Oldfart, it was treason with a great reason. No taxation without representation was just one of them. However, it was still treason.

More or less in my initial post I was referring to the scene in the movie National Treasure, where Nicholas Cage was toasting the treason that men who signed the Declaration of Independence committed by signing said document.

Peoria celebrated in style with the largest fireworks display outside Chicago ... ever. And, this year with Chicago not hosting their usual display because of financial reason ... the largest in the state. It was magnificent.

I'm celebrating by preparing for tomorrow, when I will be participating in the Canvass II, when the last of the absentee & provisional votes from the most recent primary election are counted.
Serving as an election judge in a non-partisan manner is the most patriotic thing I can think of to do.
