Virus!!!

Anyone;whos private;personal;e-mail;that I have.Don't open anything;from me.I keep getting returned mail.The message;says
that it couldn't be delivered;because;it contained a virus.A virus
must have; attached itself;to any addresses in my address book.
Only two of the returned messages are even people in my book.
One was Murphy;and I haven't sent him;anything;in ages;so it must have attached itself to my addresses.Word of warning-Don't
open anything from me until I get this straightened out.I will post
a notice here;when everything is OK.I have notified my internet
provider! Irish
P.S.I also notified Kim;because I tried to start a new thread;under
the Site news;but it wouldn't let me.My internet provider;said that
it; probably;came from someone;that had my address;in their
addresses.It's a vicious circle!

Lilith---Thanks for the information.Thru; the course of last night;
I must have had about 40; returned e-mails;in my mailbox!This morning;without exaggeration;there must have been another 25!
I have turned;my computer off;and restarted it;hoping that the
virus sweep;would take care of things.Evidently;it didn't!My wife;
will be home; from her vacation;late Sat. night.She knows;much more;about computers;than I do.Hopefully;she will know what should be done.Until then;I am not going to do anything with it.
When people;tell me;what to do.I don't know what they are talking about;so I'm just going to leave it alone. Irish
P.S.I have gotten;returned e-mails; from aol,hot mail;etc.I never even heard of most of the addresses;much less;sent mail to them!I don't even know;where;most of these addresses;came
from!

Just to let everyone know!I just talked to my wife;on the phone.
I told her of the computer probems.She;suggessted;turning;the
computer;off;completly;until she looks at it.She won't be home;
until;about 11:00P.M.;tomorrow(Sat.)night.I will be offline;at least ;until Sunday!Have a good weekend everyone!That is an ORDER!! Irish

Oh Irish, I'm sorry you're having trouble with a virus...they can be so hard to elliminate.

It sounds like you have one of the versions of the KLEZ virus. That one is a toughie, because it goes right through your antivirus software.

The only way I was FINALLY able to get rid of it on my computer was by going to the Trend Mico site and downloading their free virus checker...........good luck.

Irish the virus you have is W32.Klez....as I've received emails from you and that is what Norton came up with when it scanned it.

I am back on line;now!My wife just ran a virus scan(Norton)The
Norton scan is in effect;all of the;time;so I guess the virus;wasn't
a dangerous one!Sorry;for any inconvenience;it might have caused;to you guys.I shut down;because I figured;better safe;then sorry! Irish
