Finding out that in order to take the new job I will have to leave my wife with newborn kid, or take them to the college with me, take a £3k pay cut for a year and even then i may not make it through the training course.. man that sucks

PantyFanatic 05-01-2007 05:54 PM

OK. Now that they beat you with the stick, what is on the end of it? What kind of $$$ is there AFTER you take Minature Mayhem to college for a year? Somebody must think you have what it takes if they made the offer and are willing to invest in YOUR education.

;)

smithy020 05-01-2007 06:42 PM

PF has made a great point Mayhem, sometimes in life you have to take 1 step back to take 2 forward! MInd thats maybe not such a easy thing for you to do with the baby and all the things that come along with that

sodaklostsoul 05-03-2007 08:48 PM

Going to the post office this morning and finding out the window is only open from 9am until 2:30pm. I've been trying to mail out 2 packages all week. Hopefully I'll make it tomarrow before they close as I have to work at 6am. :(

osuche 05-04-2007 12:34 AM

Realizing that -- even with a good day -- I often fall short

1nutworld 05-04-2007 05:32 AM

After closing the restaurant down last night, and getting home around 12:30 am, (and drinking too much caffine "late"-thus getting a terrible night's sleep to begin with) getting woken up by the phone when some dumbass at the local hospital can't dial the right phone number, at 6:10 this morning!

IowaMan 05-04-2007 06:34 AM

Hearing the news a couple of seconds ago that another Iowan has died in the war. A 19 year-old girl from Davenport. Graduated from Davenport North High in 2005. 2005!!!!!

Barely had a chance to start her adult life.

Lilith 05-05-2007 03:51 PM

My boss who sent out an extremely disrespectful email to my team. Several of us have clearly shown her what the problem is and how to solve it yet she refuses and misplaces blame consistently. I don't know how much longer I can tolerate someone who I should be able to turn to for answers being so much a part of the problem.

sodaklostsoul 05-05-2007 10:16 PM

Sounds like Lilith's boss needs a good bitch slap.

I'm in a foul mood. Today was bad driver day, stupid counter person day and fucked up website day.

PantyFanatic 05-05-2007 10:51 PM

The speed of blind pit vipers.

thus have bosses been for so many for so long...that's why I love being my own boss now...my boss is still an SOB, but he's my kind of SOB...

osuche 05-06-2007 12:03 PM

The price of coffee at the store, and the fact that I suspect a firend is going a bit cold on me.

IowaMan 05-06-2007 02:04 PM

Just dozing off a bit ago and having the phone ring so now I'm wide awake. Oh well, at least the ballgame is on.

IowaMan 05-08-2007 07:10 PM

Apparently I don't get the Cubs game on my satellite dish tonight.

Loulabelle 05-09-2007 01:54 AM

Well, it was actually yesterday, but I had a grizzling (and later in the evening screaming) baby all afternoon and I found out that my patience wasn't so endless after all.

Oldfart 05-09-2007 03:09 AM

Work is slow in paying out my entitlements.

IowaMan 05-09-2007 08:54 AM

About fifty ants on my kitchen counter.

ReaperWoman 05-09-2007 03:11 PM

I've become quite proficient in ant-killing. I'll fly right over and give you a hand... With the ant-killing, of course.

osuche 05-09-2007 03:24 PM

Waiting for about 45 minutes at the insurance office, hungry, sick, and tired.

sodaklostsoul 05-09-2007 11:15 PM

Figuring out how much I'm spending for gas driving each week to the Special Forces store.

IowaMan 05-11-2007 11:25 PM

Got blood on the driver's seat of my car and on my jeans. Nope, there was no bloody glove involved. :p

Special Forces store? COOL!

Do they have the T1000 available for purchase?

Can you buy some Greenie Beanies?

Or a S.E.A.L. or two for usage or they for display purposes only?

sodaklostsoul 05-12-2007 09:33 AM

LOL^^^^^^ I wish it was that kind of store.

Special Forces is a code name for my assignment that my DM asked of me. I'm a spy basically and if I don't see some results this week with the info I have given the DM then him and I are gonna have words. My car and I cannot do this driving everyday not to mention my personal life, cause there isn't one. All I do is sleep, drive and work.

sodaklostsoul 05-12-2007 10:09 PM

Picked up my car from the repair shop and went to work only to come out of work and find that it had a puddle again. So now I can't work tomarrow ( oh darn!!!!) cause I can't trust it not to break down on the road. I'll take it back to the shop for Monday which is my day off anyway.

Lilith 05-12-2007 10:15 PM

Oldfart 05-16-2007 05:54 AM

My big mouth.

I offered to take my ex-wife and daughter to the airport at 1.00am tomorrow morning a few days ago, expecting the daughter's boyfriend to leap to the fore.

Today, I got called on it.

Loulabelle 05-17-2007 04:21 AM

Everything, take your pick:

A baby who won't stop crying and whingeing this morning

The fact that I'm expected to check my mother's bank account and go half an hour accross town every day to check her mail on the off-chance that my pathetic excuse for an ex step-father might have paid her the money he owes her while she's on holiday. And the fact that, since it hasn't yet shown up, I've had to call her solicitor to get them to chase it on her behalf, call her bank to find out why I can no longer get access to her online banking and then relay all this back to her via text message.

The fact that all of the above means I'm still not dressed and my window of opportunity is now gone until midday. I wanted to go shopping this morning - now I won't be able to go at all today.

The throbbing headache I've got - probably as a result of all of the above.

The fact that the only person who might actually be willing to listen to me moan about all of this is also out of the country until the weekend.

Lilith 05-17-2007 04:32 AM

Having my morning routine disturbed by kiddo #1 needing to be delivered to his AP exams and him spending 20 minutes in the bathroom, my bathroom.

(((((((((((Lou)))))))))))))) I say let it go for a day, if she's waited this long for the money another day won't matter.

sodaklostsoul 05-17-2007 07:21 AM

I'm not pissed yet but I will be if my check isn't at the old new store, cause it did'nt show up where I'm at right now.
