I'm sitting in an Internet cafe in Wellington, New Zealand, catching up on emails.

I'll be back in Oz tomorrow night and should be on-site then.

Thinking of a friend who is tonight nursing a breaking heart, and me wishing i could be there to help comfort them!

Getting ready to lay back down for another hour.

Getting ready to go back down to the vet's office. Kira, my wolf/shepherd/husky mix had odd covulsions and tried to throw up this morning after I brought her back from groomers. Vet told me to get her there ASAP. Turns out she had a "torqued stomach"? That is where the stomach is physically twisted inside the dog. She is out of surgery and on a morphine drip, probably until tomorrow and was cut open and now stitched shut, from stem to stern. It's been a heckuva day. Bill so far...$2500.

Watching the local news and trying to decide what, if anything, to fix for lunch.


Mae, I'm so sorry to hear about Kira. Hopefully she's back to 100% very, very soon. :wish:

Thanks IM. Got to be with her for an hour today. Stitches and staples about 2/3 up the underside. She wanted to go home but not today. They had to put a collar on her. They will keep her another night and we will probably take her home tomorrow...10 days after, they remove the stitches. But, she is in pretty good shape.

Glad things are looking ok for your dog Mae. Poor thing, I hope she makes a speedy recovery :)
