The good news is that every once in a while, we get a long departed Pixie return for at least a brief visit.
The bad news is, that is seldom.
The good news is that streams sometimes grow into raging rivers.
The bad news is, a raging river can cause catastrophic flooding.
The good news is that if the flooding isn't catastrophic, the moisture can help drought raveged soil by raising it's moisture content.
The bad news, that mosture keeps piling up in the same areas.
The good news is that if there any fish waiting to take over the world, that would be a definite encouragement.
The bad news is, "fish" include sharks.
The good news is that there is shark repellent.
The bad news is, the prospect of food often overcomes repellant.
The good news is that living in the midwest there's not too much worry about sharks. Just sayin' ... :D
The bad news is, you may still have to wrooy about cows (see the appropriately-titled thread).
The good news is that most are fenced in behind barbwire or sturdy fences.
The bad news is, fences can be broken.
The good news is that you could dig a trench around the property (assuming money is no object  )
The bad news is, that trench will fill with water, and become a moat, then you'll get sued by some local busybody for having an "attractive nuisance."
The good news is you can add some alligators AND the local busybody to your moat.
The bad news is that the government may label your property "wetlands" and confiscate it. :(
The good news is, then you dont' owe any property taxes.
The bad news is you might have those alligators as new neighbors.
The good news if you're married is that you wife may have the material to make alligator shoes or purses.
The bad news is, alligator-skin clothing is a thing.
The good news is that "things" aren't always bad ... consider the game conventions. :D
The bad news is, I still don't get to go to game conventions...still too risky around here.
The good news would be if that situation would change for the better.
The bad news is, there may be other problems on the way.
Yeah, like rising gas prices ... along with everything else going up in price.
The good news is, rising prices also means more money in people's pockets.
The bad news is that food banks are doing record business and shelves are not filled because restocking shelves has been hindered by high fuel prices and a lack of drivers. Some are predicting a recession caused in part by excessive borrowing and massive printing of new money being printed driving down the dollars worth. Not to mention ports clogged because of manpower shortages to unload ships.
The good news is, there are steps that can be taken to alleviate all of this.
One step would be to reduce congressional salaries $1000 for ever billion spent. Call it "Income Re-distribution." :D
The bad news is, that would reduce the salaries of hard-working staffers, as well. It's usually the case that the staffers work harder than the Congresscritters anyway.
They could always get real jobs producing things for the public good. Heck, there are help-wanted signs all over the place. That's the good news.
The bad news is, there are already too many PhD's flipping burgers.
The good news is that even some major business' (factories or professions looking for skilled help).
The bad new is even some of the small businesses will not recover.
Please tell me some good news........ |
The good news, this provides an opportunity for some others to start new businesses.
The bad news is that the pandemic will probably need to fade away before many new businesses risk starting up. :(
The good news is, in general, people really are up to the challenge.
The bad news is they keep lowering the challenge for the 'general people'.
