dicksbro 10-04-2021 02:54 AM

The good news is that every once in a while, we get a long departed Pixie return for at least a brief visit.

gekkogecko 10-04-2021 06:09 AM

The bad news is, that is seldom.

dicksbro 10-05-2021 05:06 AM

The good news is that streams sometimes grow into raging rivers.

gekkogecko 10-05-2021 06:08 AM

The bad news is, a raging river can cause catastrophic flooding.

dicksbro 10-06-2021 02:25 AM

The good news is that if the flooding isn't catastrophic, the moisture can help drought raveged soil by raising it's moisture content.

gekkogecko 10-06-2021 06:01 AM

The bad news, that mosture keeps piling up in the same areas.

dicksbro 10-07-2021 12:53 AM

The good news is that if there any fish waiting to take over the world, that would be a definite encouragement.

gekkogecko 10-07-2021 06:01 AM

The bad news is, "fish" include sharks.

dicksbro 10-07-2021 11:59 PM

The good news is that there is shark repellent.

gekkogecko 10-08-2021 09:36 AM

The bad news is, the prospect of food often overcomes repellant.

dicksbro 10-09-2021 05:05 AM

The good news is that living in the midwest there's not too much worry about sharks. Just sayin' ... :D

gekkogecko 10-09-2021 09:46 AM

The bad news is, you may still have to wrooy about cows (see the appropriately-titled thread).

dicksbro 10-10-2021 03:50 AM

The good news is that most are fenced in behind barbwire or sturdy fences.

gekkogecko 10-10-2021 09:29 AM

The bad news is, fences can be broken.

dicksbro 10-11-2021 02:47 AM

The good news is that you could dig a trench around the property (assuming money is no object  )

gekkogecko 10-11-2021 03:47 AM

The bad news is, that trench will fill with water, and become a moat, then you'll get sued by some local busybody for having an "attractive nuisance."

PantyFanatic 10-11-2021 06:53 PM

The good news is you can add some alligators AND the local busybody to your moat.

dicksbro 10-12-2021 02:41 AM

The bad news is that the government may label your property "wetlands" and confiscate it. :(

gekkogecko 10-12-2021 06:01 AM

The good news is, then you dont' owe any property taxes.

dicksbro 10-12-2021 11:14 PM

The bad news is you might have those alligators as new neighbors.

dicksbro 10-13-2021 05:08 AM

The good news if you're married is that you wife may have the material to make alligator shoes or purses.

gekkogecko 10-13-2021 06:14 AM

The bad news is, alligator-skin clothing is a thing.

dicksbro 10-19-2021 04:10 AM

The good news is that "things" aren't always bad ... consider the game conventions. :D

gekkogecko 10-19-2021 06:12 AM

The bad news is, I still don't get to go to game conventions...still too risky around here.

dicksbro 10-21-2021 02:26 AM

The good news would be if that situation would change for the better.

gekkogecko 10-21-2021 06:01 AM

The bad news is, there may be other problems on the way.

dicksbro 10-21-2021 11:22 PM

Yeah, like rising gas prices ... along with everything else going up in price.

gekkogecko 10-23-2021 08:47 AM

The good news is, rising prices also means more money in people's pockets.

dicksbro 10-24-2021 12:59 AM

The bad news is that food banks are doing record business and shelves are not filled because restocking shelves has been hindered by high fuel prices and a lack of drivers. Some are predicting a recession caused in part by excessive borrowing and massive printing of new money being printed driving down the dollars worth. Not to mention ports clogged because of manpower shortages to unload ships.

gekkogecko 10-24-2021 10:50 AM

The good news is, there are steps that can be taken to alleviate all of this.

dicksbro 10-26-2021 04:21 AM

One step would be to reduce congressional salaries $1000 for ever billion spent. Call it "Income Re-distribution." :D

gekkogecko 10-26-2021 06:09 AM

The bad news is, that would reduce the salaries of hard-working staffers, as well. It's usually the case that the staffers work harder than the Congresscritters anyway.

dicksbro 10-27-2021 02:08 AM

They could always get real jobs producing things for the public good. Heck, there are help-wanted signs all over the place. That's the good news.

gekkogecko 10-27-2021 06:26 AM

The bad news is, there are already too many PhD's flipping burgers.

dicksbro 10-28-2021 12:06 AM

The good news is that even some major business' (factories or professions looking for skilled help).

txgrneyes 11-22-2021 03:39 AM

The bad new is even some of the small businesses will not recover.

Please tell me some good news........

gekkogecko 11-22-2021 07:21 AM

The good news, this provides an opportunity for some others to start new businesses.

dicksbro 11-26-2021 08:38 AM

The bad news is that the pandemic will probably need to fade away before many new businesses risk starting up. :(

gekkogecko 11-26-2021 10:58 AM

The good news is, in general, people really are up to the challenge.

PantyFanatic 11-26-2021 09:56 PM

The bad news is they keep lowering the challenge for the 'general people'.
