They'd be a fool not to. You rock, and unlike a lot of people I've come across in my life, you care about the work you do.

I saw The Lobster tonight. It started out delightfully absurd, and then it turned really dark.

gekkogecko 06-05-2016 09:05 AM

But was it darkly absurd?

jseal 06-05-2016 09:16 AM

It’s interesting to contrast and compare the changes in my neighborhood over time. I was talking with my son this morning, and commented on the similarities between the current Hispanic music that was wafting in the back screen door and the Italian that he heard growing up here. Jack, who once danced in the Bali D’Italia, cocked his head, listened for a moment and concurred, saying “Yeah, I could dance a tarantella to that.”

Maybe, but mostly just dark. I spent the first half of the movie enjoying the weirdness, and the second half just kind of horrified.

I spent the weekend at my *cough*cough* 30th reunion. So fun. Saw the boy I made cream his jeans just by kissing. Fun times

gekkogecko 06-27-2016 06:46 AM

Lilith, did you put in a repeat performance?

Impressive. Are you giving away free samples?

dicksbro 06-28-2016 12:16 AM

The kisses or the cream?

:D

gekkogecko 06-28-2016 04:13 AM

Sirens went screaming down my street, turned onto a neighboring street, and stopped two houses in yesterday afternoon. Haven't found out what was up with that yet.

If she'll provide the kisses, I can definitely give her the cream.

gekkogecko 06-28-2016 07:18 AM

Hoo-boy. Came to work today, found one of my cow-orkers had proceed me to the office. Not unusual in itself, but he had the door locked, being the only one here. That is unusual. Got the full explanation. Short one: Court appearance recently from a whacko ex.

Lord Snow 06-28-2016 12:17 PM

It's official. I just signed away the next 30 years of my life to a mortgage.

jseal 06-28-2016 04:17 PM

^^^ Congratulations on your purchase! ^^^

It's amazing how not being answerable to an intrusive landlord can make everything so much calmer.

You can do that by just touching a keyboard.

dicksbro 06-28-2016 11:32 PM

Congrats LS! Time will fly by. Those 30 years will go quick!

Thanks everyone for all the congrats.

OF, I never really had any intrusion from the property manager or maintenance.

Lord Snow 06-29-2016 09:20 AM

Interesting dig

I know there are a few people that will find this interesting.

gekkogecko 06-29-2016 09:24 AM

That is interesting, LS. Thanks for the link.

dicksbro 06-30-2016 12:25 AM

The link is very interesting LS. Once again, you learn something every day (if, of course) you visit pixies every day! :)

Lord Snow 07-01-2016 08:17 PM

Don't you hate it when you're packing stuff up, and then you have just a few items that should go in that box that just won't fit?

gekkogecko 07-03-2016 09:44 AM

Make it fit, even if you have to chop your toes & heels off.

Lord Snow 07-03-2016 08:03 PM

I'm not destroying my dvd's. My feet sure, but not my movies.

dicksbro 07-04-2016 12:28 AM

We're going to spend part of the 4th at a cookout along the Illinois River at a nice campground.

PantyFanatic 07-04-2016 11:37 PM

Was she going to join in or just take inventory?

gekkogecko 07-05-2016 10:36 AM

Yep, was coming to this thread to post about Juno.

dicksbro 07-06-2016 01:45 AM

While Juno studies Jupiter, I think I'll go ahead and get my annual CT Scan this morning (follow-up on my cancer ... which I think I'm free of for now).

Good on you for that. Keep it up.

dicksbro 07-07-2016 03:01 AM

Going to say goodbye to some friends we've had since 1977 when we moved here. They've sold their home and are going to move up to Plainfield (Chicago area) to be nearer their kids. Can't blame them for that. We'll seem them at coffee this morning before they leave.

gekkogecko 07-07-2016 04:18 AM

Waaaaaay better than other reasons for saying goodbye.

Lord Snow 07-07-2016 08:31 AM

Well it looks like no new flooring for me. The time tables just don't measure up. My fishtank is more important than pretty flooring.

gekkogecko 07-08-2016 06:27 AM

Just hope the pretty fish don't end up on the pretty floor.

dicksbro 07-12-2016 12:31 AM

I'll visit my cancer doctor today to see how the CT Scan came out. Hopefully, I'll be clear for another year. :)

gekkogecko 07-12-2016 04:10 AM

Yeah, here's hoping, DB.

dicksbro 07-12-2016 11:38 PM

Came out okay! Next regular check (no CT scan) will be in about 6 months. It'll be based primarily on a blood test (we've only done CT scans about once a year.

AZRedHot 07-13-2016 12:29 AM

That's great, DB!

gekkogecko 07-13-2016 08:18 AM

Allllllll riiiiiight!
