We had a pretty good storm here, not much in the way of thunder and lightning but lots of wind and rain.

I used to like thunderstorms, too, but with so many producing tornados I've learned to prefer watching them on TV news or in weather reports and not see them hitting the house. :D

A quick fact:

Lightning is a nessessity of life on Earth.....it replenishes the ozone layer....

But man destroys it quicker than nature can fix it unfortunately

I'd been stuck to your side too!!!! "oh, I am scared skyler..hold me close"

imalikalotapuss 05-21-2004 07:23 PM

They say you have a better chance of being struck by lightning than seeing a mountain lion..well i guess i am over due, I see them fairly often...((((ducks down))))..:)

I love thunder and lightning storms, but I have a healthy respect for them as well .... when I was 17 I was watching out my bedroom window (lying in bed since it was after 2:00 a.m) and watching the lightning when a bolt hit the street lamp maybe 50 feet away .... luckily nothing much electrical was on in the house, but it sure made my alarm clock light flicker for a few minutes .... the boom of thunder was SOOOOO loud! Sure made my heart race!

I’ve heard the “freight train” twice in my life DB. That IS something that you remember.

Well. Tonight was our night I guess... We had tornados all around us... even had a tornado warning about 4 miles south of us  and another one about 8 miles north of us was spotted.

The county next to us had a large tornado go through (a path 2 miles wide and 8 miles long) ... about 80% of the town is gone. Govenor has declared the county a disaster area. Not sure about the stats, but there were people injured. No one died - Thank God!

We still have major storms coming and they can still produce tornados...we are going to have a long night tonight!

We will stay safe...

I LOVE sitting on the porch during a thunderstorm -- if others are up I wear clothes and bring a beer outside. If not, I have been known to stand nude and let the rain flow over my skin. I do live in the city, so I have to be sure that no one is up when I do this -- so it's rare.

Making love during a storm -- and the cuddling afterwards -- ids my second favorite storm pastime

Well, the storms came through yet again last night. Only lasted about an hour or so.... the little one decided he wanted to watch the lightning, I guess.

Sleep, where art thou?
