Aqua, I will not name names, but the formula / bottle / infant care companies are multi-billion dollar multi-national firms which spend hundreds of millions of dollars each year to persuade the public that bottle feeding is the preferred way to feed baby. The problem is even worse in Africa, (a “growth market” for these companies) where sources of water, which dry formula mixes require, are often not potable. Further, any residue left in the bottle provides a perfect growth medium for bacteria. This is one of the less laudable aspects of globalization. |
One of the most natural acts on Earth and people have a problem with it. Humans are so stupid sometimes!

What you all seem to be forgetting is that women don't actually have breasts until you perverts point out somehow that they do.
|
Oh, in case you missed it, that's a hint that the Pixies women shoudl take the opportunity to point out that they have breasts. :thumb:

rubbish. People so need to get over themselves.

I'm sure there is a burka in that womans size. :starwars:

I'll be honest, it flat pisses me off that such a big damn deal is being made over it. For medical reasons, I will not be able to breastfeed either of my children, and I'm not sure that I would if I could have, but I respect ANY woman's right to do the healthy and natural thing by her child anytime and any place that she chooses.
This is a big steaming pile of turd. |
I breast fed my youngest.
What I don't understand is why people get upset about it. The majority of women don't suddenly unbutton their shirts and flash boobies and stick a nipple into the infant's mouth for all to see! I fed my children while in a resturant, in a mall, walking down an isle in the grocery store, in the park, and none were the wiser (other than prolly other breastfeeding moms). I have had people stop and talk to me and they didn't know what I was doing. They just figured my daughter was sleeping. |
Yes, yes, yes...we all agree that breastfeeding is natural and not an act of eroticism.
We know that women that nurse don't just whip their tops off and sit in the middle of a crowded mall with their :boobs: hanging out. And we know that formula companies, who provide a product that has it's uses, do try to maximize their income by praising the debated benefits of their product over nursing. But the real story here is that lady who is mortified that her husband may see the cover...to the point of ripping the cover off! What's up with that? |

I really feel sad for the guy that his wife is that paranoid. And, I feel sorry for her that she has so little regard for him. :( ... only the other hand, maybe it was hard for her to turn the pages when they get sticky. :rolleyes2 Sorry, the devil made me say that. ;) |
I did not^^^^ :D

Christ! I can't believe this has set off such a furore!
I think it's an absolutely beautiful picture of a beautiful baby and a beautiful breast. Do you think there's an element of jealousy in these prudish women's reponses to this picture? What is in the inside of these magazines? In Britain, our baby magazines are crammed with pictures of breast feeding women showing nipples as well and "shock horror" even vaginas (it's difficult to show pictures of childbirth without them). As for the outside covers, I've never noticed if a breast was on the front cover or not...if I'd seen this magazine on a newstand I wouldn't have even looked twice at it. It just wouldn't occur to me to be offended or embarrassed by it. |
