I'm trying to get in the mind-set. I'm gonna give it another go soon. Mr. Lixy quit 2 years ago but he chews from time to time. He'll quit that when I quit smoking, he says.

Got plenty of reasons but Thank You smithy020.

When I gave up smoking (pre patches and nicotine gums) I used dry spaghetti to chew like matches or toothpicks. It's the hand/mouth thing.

When the patches are done I'll see what happens but I have no problem with that right now.

Yesterday at work I was pulling stuff done from a top shelf to lower ones and I pulled down a box of dog toys and found a pack of cigs in the box. They happen to be the ones this boss smokes. I could have easily smoked them but I just put them on her desk with a note.

I'm courious to see how I do after the patches. Have 3 more weeks on them.

After 46 years I laid them down the night before Labor Day 2000 and never smoked another one. My wife quite within 6 months and we sure have more money now and better health.

i gave up cold turkey 10 years ago, i tried several times before and i was even on the testing program here for the patches. My son came up to me and asked me to stop because he wanted me to see his kids (when he has them) grow up, so i thought about it and threw my fags in the bin and have not have one since. i belive you will give up when you are truely ready and people can ask you and you can try to force yourself but at the end of the day you have to want to,
the things you get back after 3 mounths are your taste, your smell, your sudden ability to know what no smokers are talking about but the best of all you get your health back as well, no more coughing in the morning.
