Yep bit like that!

Always fun to come and see how the family is doing. Noah, you do wonders with all your gang! Thanks for sharing with us.

Bilbo bought me a new canister filter a weeks or so back! Anyway today i chucked it on the 2.5ft planted tank. Now its rated for a 200litre tank, personally i think it would be struggling to filter that amount, the tank its on now is a 130litre, so hopefully it will do the job ok.
My new tiers and tanks didnt arrive, the guy resceduled thrice, yeah ok shit happens, but when i have waited at home all weekend for him to turn up..grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I can't complain i spose he is delivering them for nothing. Still no word as to what happened to him today yet. At this rate our Ute will be on the road and i'll pick em up myself *L* |
We'll keep our fingers (or legs if that would relieve more pressure :D) in hopes they arrive today. ;)

NikaScoob10thOct08b.jpg :)
Well, it was part of the link. |
Errrrr...there arent any Scoob pics in this thread....well not that i can remember
|
|
*LOL* ahhhhhhh i see
|
The 3 tiered tanks arrived! Only thing is they wont fit were i thought they would *L* So things are gonna have to be moved around. The 4ft will have to move to where the angel tank is The tiers will go where the 4ft used to be. The goldie tank will have to move to near the back door The angel tank will move to where the goldie tank was Gawd this should be fun! |
.................... again. :faint:
|
Anxious to see it in place. :boink:
|
So started yesterday lol 12th Sept 2.22pm Goldie tank emptied...Still empty 4ft emptied and moved (not where it will eventually go though). Still empty just having dinner then will bring in the tiers 13th Sept 3.30am I got the 4ft filled and fish back in before i went to bed last night. Got the angel tank (angels are confined in the maingano tank for now) to move into place and to put the tanks onto the tier stand today when i get home from work. The angels are moving into the custom 2ft, the goldies will be going into their 3ft. Well thats the plan anyway *L* 13th Sept 1pm Upon inspection 1 of the 3fts that came with the tiers looks to need resealing, cheaper and easir just to buy a new tank *L* The other i knew was damaged and had been repaired, not usable as far as i'm concerned. The 2.5ft looks ok, just gotta pick up a sponge filter for it The stand is great, which is what i was after anyway....the tanks...blah...dump job...i'm a bit fussy *L* So i got the Goldies are in the 3ft (old angel tank). And have started the 2ft custom tank for the angels today. The angel tank is a priority now, the plants dont take kindly to being shoved in buckets without light for too long. My darn canister on the 4ft is playing up so i've turned it off, and it will have to stay that way til i get home from work tonight and pull it down to find out what's happening, fingers crossed it hasnt died cause there was no movement...grrrrrrrrrrrrr So far in the big reshuffle *LOL* |
Tanks are all moved and now fully set up But hmmmm not fully happy with them, well except for the goldie tank (its looks good), so more movement may happen Oh and the filter on the 4ft, broken part!, crap, now trying to get a replacement part, not proving to be easy. The 5ft filter is about to get some TLC as its getting a tad noisy, so something is going on there. *sigh* Having recieved my power bill, i can add that some tanks will be changed over to run on 1 larger air pump (it has 4 outlets) rather than running the 4 individual filters. Heaters have also had the temp dropped to around 22C rather than 26C. Hopefully this helps keep costs down or all (not 5ft and 3ft) will have to go *sigh* |
Nika and i are heading back to dog school tonight, should be interesting *L* Between her injuries and seasons and my injuries/illness, we havent been for far too long. I'm hoping to drop back to class 2 and restart from there, depending how we both do. Will let you know how it goes *LOL* |

:yikes: What did I miss? "HER INJURIES"? |
Hopefully, she's okay ... and hopefully, you're feeling better, too, Noah.
|
Her injuries were either joint stuff or muscular, too many limping episodes for it to be just nothing, so i am leaning towards desexing her. I am slowly putting the money together to get her xrayed to know for sure, if it is a problem then she will not be able to competitively trial either, so she will just become a normal pet *L* Regardless i love her to bits.
Worst comes to worst i'll get a pedigreed male dog to trial with and she can be the companion. Dunno depends on the xray results really. And well my crap just seems to be neverending at present *LOL* Anyway we made it to class tonight, was only a short night due to storms and rain in the area. She did far better than i thought she would actually, we went with the beginners, after class we were told we will be in Class 3 next week *L* So this week we will be out training, and to get the bit of excess weight of her from lack of work (know the feeling *L*) and get back into the swing of things. |
Took Nika into town this morning, she was soooo damned excited *L* Dropped Bilbo off at work, she proceeded to whinge because we left him *L* Drove and parked downtown, went for a walk, gawd if every second person didnt compliment the dog *L* A wee little girl wanted to pat the pretty puppy *L* so i gave her a piece of food and she not only patted, she fed the pretty puppy and walked off a happy little camper. Didnt get pics here, damn camera batteries were flat and nothing was open for me to buy more! We sat and waited for my eldest son to go to an appointment, while sitting got more compliments and Nika scored many a pat *LOL* Son came out and drove to Queens Park to have a look at some of the flower beds, sadly many of them were dying off, but i got a couple of pics here. From there we drove to the duck park (cant remember its proper name) and Nika wanted to jump into the water and chase said ducks *L* A woman with a dog asked if she could come over, Nika is not dog aggressive, but as the other dog was approaching its hackles went up and she took offence. Parked herself fully in front of me and stared this other dog. The silly lady kept coming. Anyway when Nika gave a small warning lunge, she stated oh your dogs not friendly. I stated back yes she actually is, asked her if she could see her dogs hackles up, yes she said. I told her that is considered a sign of aggression and Nika just went into guard mode. I told her when approaching other strange dogs her dog needs to learn ettiquite, charging (with owner in tow)at them hackles up is not going to get a good reaction the majority of the time. This is why i am an advocate for compulsary obedience training for dog owners. This womans dog ruled the roost. Very proud of my Nika, she put herself between myself and the strange dog and she was standing her ground without being overly aggressive herself. From the duck park we drove out to a pet store that allows dogs to go in. Nika loved that *L* The 2 staff members jut loved her to bits, Nika loved 1 of them, well more to the point the $1500 tame bird on her shoulder *L* Never took her eyes off it the entire time. The girl went to squat down to say hi to Nika, i quickly got her up and said that putting the bird in Nika's grab space would not be a good idea. A VERY expensive chew toy! Nika had had enough by this stage, she is a dog that flatly refuses to either drink or pee/poop while out and about, and it was quite a warm day. So home we came, with Nika absolutely slabbed out on the back seat *L* She loved the whole trip though, and took all the strange situations in her stride. I'm one very proud mum! (pics will come, but being on dial up i am having trouble uploading them) |

Honey bunny what great photos I have enjoyed this whole thread!
You take great shots! Love the story of Nika chops and this lady and her dog.. ducks huh hehehe.. her mother was the same anything that moved was a chasing object anything that wasn't firmly in the ground became a toy and anything that was planted firmly soon became dislodged lol! Nika looks great! I cannot wait to see your new tank look and the work you've put in it. Well done bub you have a brilliant imagination love it! MWA Keep the photos coming! |
Yay there she is!!! Missed ya matey!
Glad ya enjoyed it, there are a few other critter threads around in here. Yeah the tank has been fun, next one though i'll try incorporating the filtration, waterfall feature etc into the background, bit more of a challenge. |

A new passerby, grabbed some pic of it and yep it was not in the least amused. I also learnt something new today, beardies have teeth, i mean real honest to goodness teeth, and they aint afraid to use them. Thankfully this was something i learnt after having my fingers and camera within millimetres of its face! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
