$3.17 here...but it's been fluctuating between $3.10 & $3.21.

dicksbro 04-06-2008 04:16 AM

Still sitting at $3.38 or $3.39 at the local stations. :(

dicksbro 04-08-2008 04:31 AM

Got gasoline for $3.29 at a station near the park I went to. :)

Most still seem to be around $3.38 or $3.39. :(

wyndhy 04-08-2008 08:29 PM

60 fargin dollars and the tank wasn't even full. 3.24/gal

maddy 04-08-2008 08:53 PM

3.19 when I went to work, 3.29 when I came home.

jay-t 04-08-2008 08:56 PM

$3.19 here

scotzoidman 04-09-2008 10:42 AM

The big stunner for me Monday morning was not the price per gallon so much as the $55+ on the total sale...coupled with the rather paltry paycheck I had in my pocket at the moment, made me question whether I'm in the wrong business these days...

I believe this picture pretty well sums things up. It's a picture of my piggy bank after filling up with gas.

dicksbro 04-12-2008 04:00 AM

A couple of our stations had $3.45 posted.

osuche 04-12-2008 04:25 AM

$3.89 for the cheap stuff.

musicman 04-12-2008 06:13 AM

$1.14 a litre which I believe would translate to roughly $4.5-$5 US a gallon....

sodaklostsoul 04-12-2008 09:46 AM

Paid $3.34 last night after having a ten cent a gallon off coupon.

LixyChick 04-12-2008 10:04 AM

$3.49 a gallon here. And I got 150 gallons heating oil @ $3.69 per gallon.

I can afford it (doesn't mean I like it) but I can't help but worry/wonder about those who can't and are forced to do without!

Scarecrow 04-12-2008 10:30 AM

$3.45 here today

I have discovered why the price of diesel is now higher than the price of gasoline, when in my youth the reverse was true.

Demand from China and Europe has increased. Refineries in the U.S. have been operating at above 90% capacity over the last ten years. Increasing demand for a fixed supply causes prices to rise in a capitalist system.

The transition to low-sulfur diesel fuel has affected diesel fuel production and distribution costs. In 2006, new EPA standards for sulfur content in diesel fuel started to phase in. By 01-JUN-06, 80% of the on-highway diesel fuel sold in the U.S. had to be Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) fuel (sulfur content <= 15 ppm), replacing most Low Sulfur Diesel (LSD) fuel (sulfur content <= 500 ppm). By 01-DEC-10, all on-highway diesel fuel must be ULSD fuel. In 2007, new standards for diesel fuels for off-highway consumption started to phase-in. The additional refining has added to the per gallon cost. Cleaner air costs money.

For anyone interested in the data, here are the links.

Diesel fuel was $4.11/US a gallon today

dicksbro 04-12-2008 10:43 PM

Now I wish so many train tracks hadn't been pulled up and pitched. Be nice to see a lot ot the truck traffic traveling by rail. Fuel, highway maintenance costs, and the environment would all benefit. :(

I wish we had good rail passenger service that we could use instead of cars for a lot of our travels.

Oh well ... maybe I'll get use to the higher fuel bills. :(

dicksbro 04-13-2008 08:04 AM

We were at a dinner in Streator, IL last night (east of a town PantyFanatic made famous) ... and prices there were $3.34. We still at $3.45 here.

$3.41 was the best I saw yesterday. Most are still around $3.45. :(

IM1469 04-21-2008 11:21 AM

$3.49 to 3.55, although more places are putting plastic bags over the pumps and not filling up as they don't have the money to purchase fuel. I suspect we will have a new thread started on the high cost of new shoes.!!

Filled up today with diesel @ £1.22 a litre. Works out at £5.46 per gallon, or $10.75 a gallon @ £1=$1.97.

Now, I know our fuel prices have been higher than in the US for years, but this is fucking ridiculous! (scuse my language) :(

No excuse needed, I'd be cussing a bluestreak that'd make you sound like Mary Poppins...

Haven't done any courier work this week, but I'll need to go in service tomorrow just to cover my deductions...& not looking forward to gassing up first (gulp)

dicksbro 04-25-2008 03:04 AM

$3.58 seems to be the "weekend" pricing around here. :(

IowaMan 04-25-2008 07:46 AM
