dicksbro 11-30-2003 10:11 PM

Sure did. A co-worker.

Have you ever been stung by a bee or wasp?

rockintime 11-30-2003 11:52 PM

stung by both often as a kid...been a long time now since I was stung...does that mean I'm getting faster at running away as I get older?

Do you feel conditions in the world are improving and why do you feel as you do?

dicksbro 12-01-2003 04:25 AM

Boy, that's a tough one. Some things are improving, in fields such as medicine and astronomy. And food production in, at least the western world, is staying above population growth. Yet, in other areas, things seem worse. Terrorism is probably at it's worst ever, in part because it's not localized anymore, but widespread (global). And while nuclear war is maybe not likely, the risk of a "dirty bomb" or "rogue state" use is probably at it's highest. I guess the way I'd sum up my feelings is that while I'm glad I'm alive ... not sure I'd want to start over again. Hows that for a short answer to a big question?

Would you be inclined to visit any middle eastern country right now if you were given a free ticket?

rockintime 12-01-2003 04:34 AM

Great answer, DB.

Yes definitely...would love to return to Oman, Jordan, Yemen, UAE, Bahrain...but the free ticket wouldn't entice me back to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar...and I'll also wait awhile on Iraq and Iran.

If you could live in any place (OTHER THAN where you presently live), where would it be?

dicksbro 12-01-2003 04:54 AM

Probably Colorado. Never lived there but just love that state. Truly beautiful. (Although I can think of dozens of other places I'd love as well.)

What was the most special time you can remember having with your so/spouse?

Steph 12-01-2003 10:46 AM

So many! When he left for school, we knew we'd be apart until I could get my sh*t together to move down here. We had a really nice weekend together before he left.

Have you and your S/O ever broken up?

IAKaraokeGirl 12-01-2003 02:20 PM

We came close, once or twice, but after doing some talking realized it was a case of miscommunications and misunderstandings, and that neither one of us really even wanted to consider it.

What is your favorite time of day?

dicksbro 12-01-2003 03:28 PM

Mornings. I'm definitely a morning person. I tend to get up early and call it a night early also ... with some exceptions, of course. :)

What secret little things do you do to help your spouse unwind and relax?

SuccubusKitty 12-01-2003 04:22 PM

A new set of Minilite wheels for my Mini Cooper.

What's the best gift you ever gave?

SuccubusKitty 12-01-2003 04:33 PM

Professional photos of myself and my sister for my Mom. She didn't have any of the two us as adults and so we decided she would like that...She actually cried when she saw it because we had one specially framed and wrapped for her

Do you know what the meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything is? (yes there is an answer and it's funny)

skyler_m 12-01-2003 04:37 PM

42, of course

What's the best book you've ever read?

SuccubusKitty 12-01-2003 04:45 PM

Anything Robert Heinlein...but especially To Sail Beyond the Sunset
(glad someone else knew the answer! ;) )

What is your favorite book genre?

skyler_m 12-01-2003 05:01 PM

Classical Literature. I got bored with the contemporary authors I was reading a few years ago and picked up several classic books. 2 years and 25 books later, I'm truly addicted to them.

What's your favorite thing to do if you have a little time just for yourself?

Steph 12-01-2003 05:06 PM

Perv and read and listen to music.

What's your favourite book?

skyler_m 12-01-2003 05:07 PM

Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged.

Favorite song?

SuccubusKitty 12-01-2003 05:43 PM

Right now Phillip Glass' Religion....awesome piece of minimalist classical music.

Who is your least favorite actor? (contemporary or classics)

skyler_m 12-01-2003 08:45 PM

Least favorite? hmmm. Could be plenty of actors... I'd have to say any of the Baldwin brothers except for Alec. LOL

What is your least favorite play/musical you've seen?

skipthisone 12-01-2003 09:58 PM

How's the Christmas shopping going?

lexi 12-01-2003 11:05 PM

Just barely got started.

How many people do you shop for?

denny 12-01-2003 11:07 PM

14, just my immediate family!

Are you already tired of the holidays?

freesolutions 12-01-2003 11:16 PM

Tired of them ........ NO WAY ....... I love this time of year!!!

Why are you tired of them already?

denny 12-01-2003 11:23 PM

Airplane trips to the opposite coast! Very tiring, fun too, but tiring.

Does anyone miss family at the holidays and get blue?

denny 12-01-2003 11:26 PM

What's up PF?

dicksbro 12-02-2003 04:39 AM

I do miss family members who don't live close by, but I'm not sure I get blue over that. Only if I had to be away from my wife during the holidays. That'd make me sad.

Ever get the urge to have your car re-painted?

skyler_m 12-02-2003 09:02 AM

Yes. I bought a 1971 Mini Cooper this summer. It has a fairly new paint job that looks good, but there are a few well hidden spots of rust.... I really want to get it all stripped down and redone...

Ever make an outrageous spontaneous purchase? (See above paragraph for mine)

Steph 12-02-2003 11:41 AM

Outrageous - no . . . I did blow $80 on French lessons in cassette form and they're at my mother's house. I want them!

What do you consider strange about your family?

IAKaraokeGirl 12-02-2003 11:44 AM

My mother.

Just kidding.

I thought for years that I was adopted. Seriously. My mom and dad both had brown hair and brown eyes, as did my slightly younger sister. Needless to say, I was *much* relieved when I was almost twelve and my baby brother was born--with my blonde hair and blue eyes.

How far will you travel this holiday season?

PantyFanatic 12-02-2003 11:52 AM

IAKaraokeGirl 12-02-2003 11:58 AM

Flew from Ontario, California to Louisville, Kentucky two years in a row.

What's the oddest Christmas present you've ever received?

(And a big LOL to you, PF). ;)

Steph 12-02-2003 12:41 PM

Oddest, cheapest? My ex-mother-in-law was rich and gave me a candle in the shape of a poinsettia  Then again, she gave my ex a shaving kit two years in a row.

How long does it take you to get ready for work?

Sharni 12-02-2003 01:22 PM

10-20 min...depending if i slept in or not *LOL*
