Beyond ridiculous.

dicksbro 04-25-2008 07:47 PM

$3.55 today at one of the stations. :) I suspect they'll get even in a couple of days, though. :(

osuche 04-25-2008 07:56 PM

I paid 3.98 for the cheap stuff this morning. $60 to fill my tank. Ugh.

wyndhy 04-25-2008 08:02 PM

there's aplace down the road that lists 3.48 (most places are about 3.60ish) but i'm scared of it. might be hinky :p

dicksbro 04-29-2008 05:56 AM

$3.55 in town ... but yesterday I picked my son up at the Junior College in E. Peoria and a station that normally is among the lowest priced was at ... $3.67!

Oldfart 04-29-2008 06:26 AM

Creeping up to $US5.60 per USgallon.

I'll need to hire a guard soon for the fuel tank on the Rav4.

IowaMan 05-02-2008 02:28 PM

$3.49/gal. here for the ethanol blend.

scotzoidman 05-02-2008 08:55 PM

$3.42 this am with the kroger discount. Plus there's a warning on the news that the E85 blends may allow water to get into the gas supply, so now we all have to gamble on cheap(er) gas vs. 4-digit auto repair bills. :banghead:

IowaMan 05-03-2008 12:10 AM

I'm gonna buy a donkey.

dicksbro 05-04-2008 09:16 AM

We're still hanging around $3.65 as of yesterday morning. :(

Lilith 05-04-2008 09:22 AM

same here^^^

dicksbro 05-04-2008 09:40 AM

Kind of a nice place to find the cheapest gas in your area ...

http://www.gasbuddy.com/

According to it, as of this morning, a GasMart on W Glen in Peoria had gasoline at $3.49/gal.

Good news is that there were several stations in the Nashville area at $3.38 o $3.39/gal. :)

Its the price we pay for free health care......

Freya 05-05-2008 07:38 PM

The gas tax pays for the health care?

gekkogecko 05-06-2008 08:56 AM

Fuckin' around $3.74/gal.

dicksbro 05-06-2008 12:22 PM

Still $3.49 near where I went walking this morning. A little place called Mackinaw, IL.

DM, you have to remember that in the States we subsidize the gas companys by giving them tax breaks, so that helps keep the price down. We pay for it, just not at the pump.

Pita 05-06-2008 03:40 PM

My store sold gas today at $3.56

Coaster 05-06-2008 04:42 PM

3.57 here

dicksbro 05-07-2008 06:43 PM

Locally, all the stations here jumped to $3.79 today. Rumor ... even at the stations ... is that $4.00 is just around the corner and $5.00 by summer's end.

Keep your fingers crossed that those predictions ... fears ... don't come true. :(

Scarecrow 05-07-2008 09:57 PM

$3.79 here also today

Eros 05-08-2008 11:47 PM

I work at a gas station, $3.89 a gallon for the cheap stuff

dicksbro 05-09-2008 04:31 AM

Still at $3.79 as of yesterday. Rumor is, $4.00 soon and $5.00 by summer's end. That's a rumor I hope doesn't materialize. I was with friends at a local Arby's which is in a building that is 1/5 Arbys and 4/5 service station and truck stop. We heard on the PA system a lady in the truck stop telling a driver that his bill was $1352.00 for filling his rig. :yikes:

One of these days, I suspect we'll have a major "revolt" by truckers (not just the demo in Washington a bit ago). :(

jseal 05-09-2008 09:10 AM

$3.98 in Santa Paulo, CA

scotzoidman 05-09-2008 10:30 PM

Beginning to look like I could quit the courier thing, park the van, & my savings would just about make up for the loss of income :banghead:

maddy 05-10-2008 11:36 AM

3.59/gal last night when I went past. Just for fun I opened this thread and looked at the first few pages... granted it was 6 years ago... but we sure were shocked at the prices weren't we?

osuche 05-10-2008 01:05 PM

I paid $3.94 for the cheap stuff yesterday

We didn't know our asses had to be this deep.

RomeosTune 05-10-2008 05:28 PM

3.49 here and I thought that was bad.

IowaMan 05-10-2008 05:47 PM

$3.59/gal. here for the cheap stuff. :(

dicksbro 05-10-2008 09:22 PM

$3.72 yesterday. :(

sodaklostsoul 05-10-2008 10:09 PM

Today $3.77

IowaMan 05-12-2008 02:04 PM

Now they're just jerking me around, the cheap stuff is down to $3.54/gal. here in town today.

Pita 05-12-2008 03:49 PM

We jumped .09 cents today to a whopping $3.75 a gallon and we are one of the cheapest stations in town.

Scarecrow 05-12-2008 04:05 PM

Jumped to $3.85/gal today, $4.00 here we come...

Lilith 05-12-2008 05:31 PM

The station across from my neighborhood was $3.65 this morning and $3.77 when I came home.wtf?

dicksbro 05-13-2008 03:43 AM

Coming home last night from Peoria, I noticed the stations had all bumped their prices from $3.75 when I went in to Peoria up to $3.88 or $3.89/gal. :( Used to be they waited til Wednesday or Thursday for the price jump.

dicksbro 05-15-2008 03:34 AM

$3.94 - $3.95 seem to be the new level of gouging. :(
