dicksbro 01-11-2007 05:07 AM

Since I have diabetes, I see mine on a fairly regular basis to determine if my prescriptions need any adjustment.

Do you play soccer?

IowaMan 01-11-2007 10:38 AM

Nope that's one sport that never really caught my attention.

Do you prefer plain cream cheese or flavored on a bagel?

IAKaraokeGirl 01-11-2007 10:41 AM

I've always liked the reduced-fat, plain kind of cream cheese, but one of the attorneys brought in bagels last week and had this garlic/herb cream cheese blend that I mixed with the plain kind, and it was really good.

How do you feel about ordering off of the Internet?

IowaMan 01-11-2007 11:00 AM

I was hesitant about ordering things online at first but anymore it doesn't bother me at all.

Do you ever forget how old you are if somebody asks?

IAKaraokeGirl 01-11-2007 11:12 AM

I did a couple of times last year. I said I was 38.

Do you plan big celebrations on your birthday?

dicksbro 01-11-2007 11:44 AM

No, not for me. My wife planned a big party for me when I turned 60 and totally fooled me. I thought she was helping some ladies arrange furniture at a local place and asked for my help ... it was a ruse to get me to attend. Totally surprised.

It was really nice, but, like I said, I could have forgotten it and it wouldn't have really bothered me at all.

Does it matter to you if presents are wrapped or not?

osuche 01-11-2007 12:49 PM

Not really...wrapped adds to the anticipation. However, I rarely wrap mine so I understand if others don't either.

What's your favorite time of day?

IowaMan 01-11-2007 01:02 PM

Probably whatever time I go to bed. Just sort of being able to relax and put things behind me and drift off.

Did you have a hero when you were a kid?

dicksbro 01-11-2007 07:04 PM

Several, I guess. My dad was a hero to me as well as people like Generals MacArthur and Eisenhower. Johnny Unitas was a football hero. I had a couple of uncles that I kind of place in that category as well.

How about you, did you have a hero as a kid?

osuche 01-11-2007 07:05 PM

No, not really. I never knew anyone well enough to respect them as a hero. I did, however, have several teachers I was quite fond of.

If you had to go back to school to do a PhD, what would you major in?

IowaMan 01-11-2007 07:30 PM

I would start over completely from scratch and go into medicine.

Do you ever just take a second and think to yourself, "How in the hell did I end up here?"

osuche 01-11-2007 09:24 PM

Many times...today :D

Do you identify yourself as from a particular ethnic community?

Coaster 01-11-2007 09:30 PM

yep yep.......... quite Irish

Have you ever had sex with someone of another race?

IowaMan 01-11-2007 10:09 PM

Yup, done that.

Have you ever had sex with somebody whose name you didn't know?

osuche 01-11-2007 11:42 PM

No, never

Have you ever told a sexual fib?

IowaMan 01-12-2007 07:42 AM

Yeah, I think all young guys do. Supposedly I lost my virginity when I was 13 or 14 to "a girl from another school." I guess that kind of stuff is more a flat out lie than a fib though huh? :(

The first time you had sex it was great.

dicksbro 01-12-2007 06:26 PM

Great ... well ... maybe not. Certainly exciting because it was "the first time," but not as great.

You stop and ask for directions when you travel and think you maybe are not heading in the right direction.

1nutworld 01-12-2007 07:20 PM

nope never........and boy has it cost me in some gas.

You like to go on long driving trips.

IowaMan 01-13-2007 06:56 AM

Sometimes I do. I guess I do drive most places when I travel.

Which of your relatives lives furthest away from you and where are they located?

dicksbro 01-13-2007 08:17 AM

Probably my wife's sister and her husband near Dallas/Ft. Worth. Had an uncle and cousin in Florida, but I think both have passed away.

How close does the nearest of your relatives live.

IowaMan 01-13-2007 08:52 AM

Technically about a block and a half. A lady here in town contacted me when I moved back here last May and come to find out she is a cousin I never knew I had. I've got a step-aunt/uncle in Hamilton, Illinois which isn't all that far from me. Probably 170 miles or so?

Do you ever get online and "not" come to Pixies if you are at home?

dicksbro 01-20-2007 04:51 AM

I have ... maybe to check an email or something ... but not often.

Have you ever fallen asleep at your PC?

IowaMan 01-20-2007 08:01 AM

I know that I did once probably a month or so ago but that's the only time I can recall.

What do you use for a screensaver?

dicksbro 01-20-2007 07:23 PM

I have a couple of different ones ... one is Webshots which is a free offering and allows you to build up a collection of beautiful pictures that are used as both a desktop and as a screensaver; and, I bought a fish tank screen saver that's really pretty neat.

How about you, what do you use?

campingboy 01-21-2007 01:18 AM

I use photo's that I either take or download from the net.

How much time do you spend on the internet a day?

dicksbro 01-21-2007 03:38 AM

Probably 4-6 hours on most days. Most of it in the morning, although I'll pop in during the day. Most of it at Pixies with checking e-mail in second place.

How about you? How much time do you spend on the internet a day?

IowaMan 01-21-2007 06:47 AM

Way too much. Probably right in that same ballpark DB. Sometimes more but rarely less. :yikes:

Have you ordered Girl Scout cookies this year?

Salacious 01-28-2007 08:45 PM

No one I know sells them, so no.

What would the title of your memoirs be?

Coaster 01-28-2007 08:49 PM

So you Never Heard of Me .... Surprise!

What mark would you like to leave behind after you're gone!

dicksbro 01-29-2007 04:15 AM

I'd be happy to know that my family and friends were okay.

How about you?

IowaMan 01-29-2007 08:06 AM

I'm hoping that once I'm gone the people who knew me would just smile when they think of me.

When you make hot dogs at home what is your preferred method to cook them? Boil, fry, microwave, grill, other?

dicksbro 01-30-2007 07:43 PM

I usually microwave, fry or grill hot dogs. My wife usually fries or boils them.

What condiments do you usually put on your hot dogs?

IowaMan 01-31-2007 06:04 AM

uh oh, I'm going to post this one and go running for cover. If I'm going all out I'll go with spicy mustard, onions and relish. I'll usually grab for some celery salt too. And probably 9 times out of 10 no matter what else I've got on it already........................ ketchup. *IowaMan runs to beat the devil for cover*

Do you like salsa to be really hot or do you go for the more mild variety?

dicksbro 01-31-2007 07:01 AM

The warm side of mild. Typically, I'll use about 2/3 mild and 1/3 hot salsa.

(BTW, you're hot dog sounded pretty good to me.)

Do you put whipped cream on pie?

IowaMan 01-31-2007 07:11 AM

I guess I never really gave it much thought but usually the only pie I have whipped cream with is pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving or Christmas. Otherwise I'm more of an ice cream kind of guy. Unless it's banana cream then I'll just take the whole thing and dive in like I'm in a pie eating contest at the county fair. :D

Do you avoid going outside at pretty much all costs when the temp gets down around zero (F)?

dicksbro 01-31-2007 07:18 AM

Not really. Might be a little less anxious to go out ... but, if I need to, I go.

How about you?

IowaMan 02-01-2007 06:53 AM

I learned yesterday that I really probably should stay in when it gets that cold but I'm just not smart enough to do that.

Have you ever mixed peanut butter and syrup to make a bread spread?

Miss-Honey-Bee 02-01-2007 07:14 AM

I think I'm going to be sick! That sounds horrible!

Have you ever had Oreos for breakfast? LOL x

IowaMan 02-01-2007 07:20 AM

Yep, I've done that. A few years ago they came out with an Oreos cereal that I thought was pretty good but I'm not sure if they still make it or not.

Do you skip breakfast more often than not?

Miss-Honey-Bee 02-01-2007 07:22 AM

Guilty. I'm not eating much at the moment at all, not hungry, always the same after that cursed week.

I never have time for breakfast anyway, I get up as late as possible, shower etc and go straight to college.

You adore breakfast in bed. x
