"A permanent state of fear is unhealthy and stunts the growth."

Well said, I completely agree.I envisioned Terrorists worldwide smiling with glee at the fear still embedded in us after all these years.
We must heal....or they have won.

incured, when the Govt is asking John Doe,to cut back on what they spend!
Our local TV Station did the same picture by Photoshoping(of that procedure,
I know nothing!)The Govt ought to realise that they have to cut back also.

Another inch of rain fell overnight and still another expected today! SAVE SOME FOR JULY and AUGUST! :(

As if the argument with my boyfriend wasn't enough, I then slipped in the street taking the kid to school. I landed on my butt, bruising that and and grazing my elbow. Somehow I managed to pull my daughter down on top of me and we managed to bump heads, leaving us both with bruised noggins.

From today's Sydney paper, a lesson for all.

Dave Turley (Letters, May 5) came home to find a man fiddling with his water meter. Dave has just had a brief conversation with his local burglar.

Sydney Water does not cut off the water for late payment of bills. All water meters have a handle just like a tap which can turn the water on or off as needed. The burglar's nasty little trick is to turn off the water to as many houses as possible. He will return a day or two later, and if the water has not been turned back on he will know the house is unoccupied. Let's hope none of the neighbours is on holiday.

As if that wasn't enough, my computer died later that same day.:hair: One week later I'm back.

In-laws.
No, seriously, both of them.
Today, & every day since Sunday.
We'll see them in court or see them in hell.

People and ignorance...

This Lab was brought into our clinic after her owners left her tied to a basketball hoop pole in a prong collar. It took them 5 days to get her in to us...and it was because "she didn't want to walk on her leash." I wonder why... :banghead:

I know where that owner should be spending the night and what they should be wearing.

Not getting my latest issue of New York Magazine in my mailbox still, since Monday when it should've been delivered. I thought the whole point of having a subscription to a rag was getting an issue before it hits the stands. I'm going to have to have a chat with some people if I have to actually buy off the rack what I should have already.

shadowsfate 06-17-2009 05:41 PM

The lady who, having just barely pulled over to the side of the road far enough for traffic to pass and sat there for a while, decided to pick the moment when a coworker and I were about to go by her in our work truck as the best time to open her door (into traffic) without bothering to look. Needless to say, I wasn't able to say anything that was going through my head at the time to the lady, since I was in a company truck. Way too many people in my area do that type of stupid thing during the summer time (population swells with tourist after Memorial Day), and they always think that they did no wrong. :box:

themi01 06-17-2009 06:47 PM

Around here we call the none locals bennies Further south they are called shubbies..... from the old days train stop initials they would take to get to the shore .... Really nothing pissed me off other than that old 676/76 /295 interchange.... then again My Tom Tom GPS calls traffic circles roundabouts

Nice Guy 06-17-2009 07:44 PM

That I still have to go back and work two more days at Wal-Mart before I start my new job.

Stupid heavy thunderstorm that just passed through our area. I understand some winds over 80mph were imbedded in the storm!! :(

AngelicVampires 06-28-2009 08:26 AM

Don't get me wrong, I love my fiance to death...but I am about ready to kill him. He pays more attention to his books and computer games than he does to me. I work a LOT and don't get to see him all that much despite living with him. I come home tired and (as he is sitting at the computer playing his game) asks "So, what's for dinner?" I want to say "Your ass!!" - not in a good way. Last night, we had to go to the store to get stuff for dinner... after I worked 10 hours and he had the past 2 days off. On top of all this, I covered some shifts for other people at work, we are insanely busy at work, and my allergies are on mega attack mode. I feel like I was hit by a bus while sneezing my head off. I can't sleep well at night due to my nose being all stuffy and not allowing me to breathe. I've tried at least 3 different meds and nothing helps! I am going to go nuts!!!!!!!!

I almost forgot....
Last night, on the way to the store he tells me that I am going to watch the dogs while he and his family go somewhere (I can't go because I have to work later). I am stuck here with 5 dogs...it would really be nice to be able to leave work at work. At least I don't have to hang out with his family. Sadly, I am thinking I need a vacation from my fiance as well as from work...

Rhiannon 06-29-2009 05:34 PM

Finding out one of the Lost Boys I thought I'd helped get found was arrested and is being held on crimes that will ruin him for the rest of his life and being torn because if he did it then he should be dealt with to keep others safe.

Aqua 07-08-2009 03:36 PM

Lilith 07-08-2009 06:25 PM

Finding out he's confessed. I'm not pissed at him. I'm pissed at me for missing it. He needed help and I missed the signs.

Neige 07-09-2009 09:28 AM

Melting plastic onto the mother-in-law's very very precious glasstop stove. I am getting beheaded tonight!!!

gekkogecko 07-09-2009 09:45 AM

That's better than melting plastic onto the mother-in-law.

Neige 07-09-2009 09:48 AM

In her eyes, I'm sure they would both have the same level of offense

1st, getting wife's birthday present a day late (that'll teach me to order things before a holiday weekend).

Actually, the 1st thing to piss me off was the blue funk she got into on her b-day; not a word, phone call, card, or anything from her so-called family; I did wish her a happy birthday, letting her know that her present was in the mail, but she spent the whole day taking it out on me because of my in-laws (she did apologize later, but by then I was ready to settle up w/my in-laws on MY terms  )

2nd, was getting her present delivered, only to learn that DSLR cameras don't come with a memory card, ready to use...they supplied cheap batteries, but no SD card...& they don't mention that fact in the listing, either. :bs:
