At least a mile or so to the fitness center.

Depends on the need, but as far as necessary.

I'm always very conscious of calling when I'll be late, or sending an email, or PM or...whatever it would take.

I've sat or visited with friends or family for hours watching them accomplish something important to them. Seeing their happiness made it good for me as well.

I play the gas game every week when I drive the 80+ miles to the office...I decide whether I think it's cheaper at home or there, then see if I'm right. ;)

As far as looking into a special heart.

Opening an email, a PM, a Pixies game, picking up the telephone, time spent together...

Hmmmmm ... when it looked like my manager at my part time job was going to interfer with my being able to do volunteer work ... I offered to submit my resignation to make room for someone else. She offered to change my scheduling to be less intrusive rather than have me go.

How far would you go to be with your family at a time of their need?

AS far and as fast as my car will take me.
