HA! if we were to put down where we live, y'all could zero in on our house. Our town is all of 6 1/2 blocks, and approx 65 people residing here. For businesses in town we have a car body shop, a farm tiling and other drainage business, a wannabe biker bar, and a home for recovering alcoholics and drug addicts. I work at the home. It is quite a change from the approx 2.5mil population of Birmingham UK!!!

I think when I shared about Morton, Illinois, I didn't mention. But our little town's claim to fame is being "The Pumpkin Capital of the World." Home of the Nestlé/Libby's pumpkin packing plant, Morton is proud to say that over 80% of the world's canned pumpkin is processed right here. :thumbs:

The Caterpillar facility is the Worldwide Distribution Center for Caterpillar parts.

Not to rain on your parade of fun facts here but just to point out the disclaimer, which is why you note 'omissions and minutia from my personal view'. I've always found it to be an informative, interesting site. Although my daughters were not allowed to use it for any research in any college class.

Its a quick read. Not much to write about it. My town has the least population but the greatest amount of land.... ahhhhh, the boonies! Our claim to fame is Mercy Brown, vampire. She is mentioned in the book Dracula and is buried apx 4 miles from my house.
If you ever make it to Exeter I would recomend stopping by 'The Middle of No Where Diner' for breakfast. It's served all day and is the best you'll ever have!!!! On weekends the line is out the door!
