You -
From The Places you'll go by Dr. Seuss You have the brains in your head You have the feet in your shoes You can steer yourself Any direction you choose. You're on your own and you know what you know, and you are the guy (or gal) Who'll decide where to go. |

Got the craving for some lunch. But I ain't got nothin' to munch. My mind is set on just one wish. A big ole' sandwich....... Tunafish! Time to make a grocery run. I'll walk there in the morning sun. And make a list of what I need most. Tunafish and bread for toast! And though my stomach may be empty, I'll feed my head from a horne of plenty. Roll a joint Bob Marley style, And smoke it till' it makes me smile! Startin' up in aisle one, Fruits and veggies by the ton. Hey, check it out, ravichio! These red lates, man, they almost glow! And, by joy, I've always wanted to try it. I wonder if I have enough to buy it? It's grown in Japan, or maybe China.... Or maybe some farm in South Carolina. Just then I hear a voice in my head, "Stay focused man. Tuna and bread!" But right now, I'm in produce bliss.... Whoa, I'm too high for this........ Too high for the supermarket. Too high for the grocery store. Too high for the supermarket, Ain't gonna shop like this no more! The Uninvited Too High For The Supermarket |
And..
We had sailed seven years when the measles broke out And the ship lost it's way in a fog. And that whale of the crew was reduced down to two, Just meself and the captain's old dog. Then the ship struck a rock, oh Lord what a shock The bulkhead was turned right over Turned nine times around, and the poor dog was drowned I'm the last of the Irish Rover The Irish Rover, Traditional (The Pogues) |

I wanna smash the faces of those beautiful boys, those christian boys so you can make cum that doesn't make you jesus i remember yes in my peach party dress no one dared no one cared to tell me where the pretty girls are those demi gods with their nine-inch nails and little facist panties tucked inside the heart of every nice girl ~Tori Amos~ |

Fly
"Step into my parlor" said the spider to the fly. old kids story |
Spider
There was an old lady that swallowed a spider That wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her She swallowed the spider to catch the fly I don't know why she swallowed the fly Perhaps she'll die I haven't a clue who sang this I just remember it from my childhood. The old lady goes on to eat a bird, cat, dog.....a horse then she dies. She perhaps should have chosen the vegetarian option. |
ROFL - it's good to know we all share some common childhood stories!
There There wasn’t a breath in that land of death as I hurried horror driven. With a corpse half hid that I couldn’t get rid, because of a promise given. It was lashed to the sleigh and it seemed to say, “you may tax your brawn and brains, But you promised true, and it’s up to you to cremate those last remains.” From the Cremation of Sam McGee |
I
I could stay awake, Just to hear you breathin'. Watch you smile while you are sleepin', While you're far away, And dreamin'. I could spend my life in this sweet surender. I could stay lost in this moment forever. Where a moment spent with you, Is a moment I treasure. Aerosmith I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing |
Awake
Country Skies (I don’t know the author - it's a favorite of one of my friends.) I dreamed my suitor would be tall A romeo, who would enthrone Me as his Juliet Enhance my very being with his own. I visualized his classic look, His polished personality. Who, like the figures in a book Would make life beautiful for me. Yet, I was kissed awake by one Who wore a comfortable face, Who spoke his words of love and sun With unassuming split-rail grace. The man I wed has country skies And laughing meadows in his eyes. |

Sky
And I will sail my vessle, Till' the river runs dry. Like a bird upon the winds, These waters are my sky. I'll never reach my destination, If I never try. So I will sail my vessle, Till' the river runs dry. Garth Brooks The River |
Bird
You're beautiful, that's for sure You'll never ever fade You're lovely but it's not for sure That I won't ever change And though my love is rare Though my love is true I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away I don't know where my soul is, I don't know where my home is (and baby all I need for you to know is) I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away I don't know where my soul is, I don't know where my home is All I need for you to know is I'm like a bird......Nelly Furtado |
Love
The Lost Love by William Wordsworth She dwelt among the untrodden ways Beside the springs of Dove, A maid whom there were none to praise And very few to love. A violet by a mossy stone Half-hidden from the eye. Fair as a star, when only one Is shining in the sky. She lived unknown, and few could know When Lucy ceased to be, But she is in her grave, and oh, The difference to me. |

She stands before you naked
You can see it, you can taste it But she comes to you Light as the breeze You can drink or you can nurse it It don't matter how you worship As long as you're Down on your knees So I knelt there at the delta At the alpha and the omega At the cradle of the river And the seas And like a blessing come from heaven, For something like a second, I was healed, and my heart Was at ease O baby I waited So long for your kiss For something to happen Oh-something like this And you're weak and you're harmless And you're sleeping in your harness And the wind going wild In the trees And it's not exactly prison But you'll never be forgiven For whatever you've done With the keys O baby I waited So long for your kiss For something to happen Oh-something like this It's dark and it's snowing Oh my love I must be going The river is starting to freeze And I'm sick of pretending I'm broken from bending I've lived too long On my knees And she dances so graceful And your heart's hard and hateful And she's naked But that's just a tease And you turn in disgust From your hatred and from your love And she comes to you Light as the breeze O baby I waited So long for your kiss For something to happen Oh-something like this There's blood on every bracelet You can see it, you can taste it And it's please baby Please baby please And she says, drink deeply, pilgrim But don't forget there's still a woman Beneath this Resplendent chemise So I knelt there at the delta At the alpha and the omega I knelt there Like one who believes And like a blessing come from heaven For something like a second I was cured, and my heart Was at ease O baby I waited So long for your kiss For something to happen Oh-something like this Light As The Breeze-Billy Joel |
you
I have climbed highest mountain I have run through the fields Only to be with you Only to be with you I have run I have crawled I have scaled these city walls These city walls Only to be with you But I still haven't found what I'm looking for But I still haven't found what I'm looking for I have kissed honey lips Felt the healing in her fingertips It burned like fire This burning desire I have spoke with the tongue of angels I have held the hand of a devil It was warm in the night I was cold as a stone But I still haven't found what I'm looking for But I still haven't found what I'm looking for I believe in the kingdom come Then all the colors will bleed into one Bleed into one Well yes I'm still running You broke the bonds and you Loosed the chains Carried the cross Of my shame Of my shame You know I believed it I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For......U2 |

And every day the quiet clay seemed to heavy and heavier grow So on I went, though the dogs were spent, and the grub was getting low. The trail was bad, and I felt half-mad, though I swore I would not give in. I’d often sing to the hateful thing, and it hearkened with a grin. Till I came to the marge on Lake LaBarge, and a derelict there lay It was jammed in the ice, but I saw with a trice it was called the “Alice May.” I looked at it and I thought for a bit, then I looked at my frozen chum And “Here” said I, with a sudden cry, “is my cre-ma-tor-eum. Some planks I tore from the cabin floor and I lit the boiler fire; Some coal I found that way lying around and I heaped the fuel higher; The flames just soared, and the furnace roared, such a blaze you seldom see; And I burrowed a hole in the glowing coal, and I stuffed in Sam McGee. A little bit more of the poem - "The Cremation of Sam McGee" - one of my favorites! |

Man's unhappiness, as I construe, comes of his greatness; it is because there is an infinite in him, which with all his cunning he cannot quite bury under the finite. --Thomas Carlyle |

ASK
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are born to manifest the Glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. From Nelson Mandela 1994 Inaugural Speech |
