Sad to say after I made that post Draino lost his oldest son in a car accident. No alcohol was involved and his son's wife I think will be ok.

Lilith 06-24-2012 03:06 PM

OMG. How awful. So terrible.

On his wedding day too. :banghead:

Sometimes it seems happiness is only something to be crushed. :(
So sorry to hear.

Lord Snow 06-24-2012 05:26 PM

According to a sign we have on I-24 there has been over 420 vehicle accident related deaths this year. I'm not sure if that's this area, state, or nation wide. It's still pretty high regardless.

Just one of those bastard co-incidences. My condolences to Draino and family.

Talking to PF on the phone. Great hearing from him.

Lord Snow 06-27-2012 10:52 AM

Finding out a friend of mine made it to Florida okay. She had a really bad day yesterday, so it was good to hear back.

AZRedHot 06-27-2012 02:12 PM

The hubby. I was leaning over the kitchen counter writing my grocery list, and he was tapping on the top of my head with his finger, because he's a boy, and he likes to annoy me. "I could do this all day," he said. "No. You could not," I said. He said, "You won't give me head?" It's rare in this household that the double entendre goes the other way. :p

Lilith 06-29-2012 12:28 PM

blue cheese. I buy it at Costco and eat it like it is candy.

Procedure went well yesterday (had the needle biopsy on the spot that showed up on my lung). It takes a couple of days to evaluate the biopsy, so I won't find out the, results until Monday ... but this step went good. Got to the hospital about 7AM yesterday and was there until about 3PM. A lot of prep had to be done, but, the actual surgery didn't seem to take that long. While numbed up, I was awake and answered questions during the process and remember just about everything that happened. Following the surgery, there were x-rays to assure everything was holding good. Had a surprising good lunch (meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beens with a very good jello dessert). I was pooped last night. Laid down around 6 or 6:30 and slept until just a few minutes ago. Today, of course, is the tough part. Can't drive or lift anything and have to stay in the air conditioning and watch TV or spend time on the computer. :D

Anyway, here I am again. Will keep you all posted.

Your good wishes and prayers were, for sure, appreciated! Thank you!

Reading a very unexpected and complementary post by a friend on FB regarding me

Oldfart 07-06-2012 07:13 PM

DB, if they pass the biopsy across to Forestry, they can also confirm your age.

The jseal retirement fund?

jseal 07-09-2012 09:49 PM

I wish! The senior Scouts in the Troop I work with are doing a Northern Tier trip next year, and one big fundraiser we will have is a Bull Roast. One of the better moneymakers in past Bull Roasts has been a 'Silent Auction' that is principally stocked with donations from local businesses. So, I pulled out the old RFD database, and read my notes from 2 years ago on how to get it to feed MS Word's Mail Merge feature.

... that was from 2 years ago ... the notes made sense at the time ... I finally figured out the 'obvious stuff' I didn't need to write down! LOL!

What hoops we jump through for those obnoxious ruffians!

We've all done that ...................... sorta.

dicksbro 07-15-2012 04:47 PM

Just woke up from a nap and told my wife I'd better get going to run the errand. She asked, "What errand?" Suddenly realized it must have been a dream ... there wasn't any errand to run.

Okay, so I'm nuts. Sometimes that helps. :D
