Apocalypse not yet.

An asteroid will zoom past Earth next week in what NASA says will be the closest flyby ever predict..ed for an object of its size.

The 2012 DA 14, discovered by chance by astronomers after passing near Earth last February, will be around 27,700 kilometres above the planet's surface when it speeds by.

That is outside the Earth's atmosphere, but closer than the orbit of most weather and communications satellites.

Despite the close shave, NASA says there is nothing to fear.

Actually, last night. I had to run out and noticed a new Mexican restaurant we had expected to open months ago, finally opened. I think I know where my wife and I are going to have lunch today. :)

Daydreaming, I came up with the idea of a separate box within the post panel where members can non-verbally comment on specific posts with a choice of emoticons. How many is up to the programmers, but 6-8 seems good. It's a little more targeted than the current system and a million miles ahead of the confusing "like" button.
