I love ice hockey when we get to go to Peoria and watch 'The Rivermen' play. They're actually pretty good usually! They're in the American Hockey League but were in two prior leagues (using the same name) before that. Just a bit of history. They began play in October 2005. In its previous incarnations as the Worcester IceCats and the Springfield Indians, it is the oldest minor league hockey franchise and the fourth oldest professional hockey franchise, behind the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League. In the last two years they went 80W 46L in 2005-06 and finished 3rd in the Western Division. In 2006-07 they went 80W 37L and missed the playoffs by 1 Point. :D

That's Great, hey guess what, I love Hockey too (my favorite spectator sport). The Montreal Canadiens' dynasty, were until a short while ago when the Yankees ousted them with 26 world series, the Winning-est Pro sports Team, 24 Stanley cups in their over 100 years history. A feat that is impossible for any team to match with todays new hockey rules. Mind you the Canadiens have never been a team to sign over 50 Million dollar contracts. Back in the day it was about the love of the game, not about salaries

I prefer to participate in winter sports personally, and I don't play hockey. I Snowboard and SKi. Skating and tubing are fun too...
