So very true. I've been able to maintain my 'done by Thanksgiving' Christmas shopping for quite a few years now and that is the primary reason.

T although I put Thanksgiving on an equal footing for family and friend visits. I like Thanksgiving because it's not so commercial. It's simply a time to think about friends and family and rejoice in the blessings we have. Not last night *I actually haven't looked, but none was predicted), but, Saturday we had about 2" plus or minus. This was a heavy wet snow and not any fun to shovel. Fortunately, yesterday was warm enough most of it melted away except for the piles and snow caught in the shadows.
