We had just got back from Indiana and I set the sack in the closet so the kids wouldn't find them. Then, on the 4th, we took them out to the back yard and shot off a few.

On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your town's fireworks displays (where 10 is absolutely fabulous and 1 is little or none)?

11 We have the Benson and Hedges International Fireworks Competition every summer about 10 shows over 5 or 6 weeks, each one lasting 45 mins or so, I forget the ridiculous amount of money each display costs.

Haven't been in at least 2 years gonna try this summer... (it's been going on for at least 15 yrs, hard to get people motivated to go fight the crowds, we've all seen it)

What was the biggest display you've ever seen?

On television, it has to be Louisville's "Thunder on the Ohio." I understand it's the largest annual fireworks display in the world and draws experts from China and Japan to learn witness the event. In person, it was probably one we saw in Sendai, Japan back in 1955. Fantastic display. Recently, it's Peoria's display each fourth of July. They really put on a great show that lasts around 30 minutes. Draws folks from all around the area.

When's the last time you shot off a firecracker?

Dec. 15........... I want to say 1997 or '98. I remember it because it was a bottle rocket and it ended up hitting me in the foot. :yikes:

Collecting 1/18th scale model cars and photography are probably my two biggest hobbies.

I've got a large collection of baseball cards but haven't actively been collecting in years.

Deep bone bruise on my left knee one week ago today.

What is your favorite comfort food and why?

Mashed potatoes. They go with pretty much everything and I can eat them all by themselves if need be. Plus I can make the leftovers into potato pancakes or potato soup.

What is something you have not done in a long time and why don't you do it anymore?

Have sex on a regular basis. I don't do it anymore because I can't seem to find that special woman that I want to be with.
