Awake
Country Skies (I don’t know the author - it's a favorite of one of my friends.) I dreamed my suitor would be tall A romeo, who would enthrone Me as his Juliet Enhance my very being with his own. I visualized his classic look, His polished personality. Who, like the figures in a book Would make life beautiful for me. Yet, I was kissed awake by one Who wore a comfortable face, Who spoke his words of love and sun With unassuming split-rail grace. The man I wed has country skies And laughing meadows in his eyes. |

I'm on the outside. I'm looking in. I can see through you. See your true colors. Cuz' inside you're ugly. Ugly like me. Stained Outside |
The
Early morning, April 4 Shot rings out in the Memphis sky Free at last, they took your life They could not take your pride In the name of love What more in the name of love In the name of love What more in the name of love In the name of love What more in the name of love... Pride (In the name of love).........U2 |
Sky
And I will sail my vessle, Till' the river runs dry. Like a bird upon the winds, These waters are my sky. I'll never reach my destination, If I never try. So I will sail my vessle, Till' the river runs dry. Garth Brooks The River |
Bird
You're beautiful, that's for sure You'll never ever fade You're lovely but it's not for sure That I won't ever change And though my love is rare Though my love is true I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away I don't know where my soul is, I don't know where my home is (and baby all I need for you to know is) I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away I don't know where my soul is, I don't know where my home is All I need for you to know is I'm like a bird......Nelly Furtado |
Love
The Lost Love by William Wordsworth She dwelt among the untrodden ways Beside the springs of Dove, A maid whom there were none to praise And very few to love. A violet by a mossy stone Half-hidden from the eye. Fair as a star, when only one Is shining in the sky. She lived unknown, and few could know When Lucy ceased to be, But she is in her grave, and oh, The difference to me. |
WHEN
Is Christ just a name that you read in a book, when you were in school Would you like to see the Pope on the end of a rope, do you think he's a fool ~Black Sabbath~ |
Christ
Jesus Christ, Fanny Bryce, Gangis Khan and on to H.G. Wells ..... And wept when it was all done, for being done too soon, for being done too soon (sorry -- in the middle is just a lot more historic names) Neil Diamond - Done Too Soon |

She stands before you naked
You can see it, you can taste it But she comes to you Light as the breeze You can drink or you can nurse it It don't matter how you worship As long as you're Down on your knees So I knelt there at the delta At the alpha and the omega At the cradle of the river And the seas And like a blessing come from heaven, For something like a second, I was healed, and my heart Was at ease O baby I waited So long for your kiss For something to happen Oh-something like this And you're weak and you're harmless And you're sleeping in your harness And the wind going wild In the trees And it's not exactly prison But you'll never be forgiven For whatever you've done With the keys O baby I waited So long for your kiss For something to happen Oh-something like this It's dark and it's snowing Oh my love I must be going The river is starting to freeze And I'm sick of pretending I'm broken from bending I've lived too long On my knees And she dances so graceful And your heart's hard and hateful And she's naked But that's just a tease And you turn in disgust From your hatred and from your love And she comes to you Light as the breeze O baby I waited So long for your kiss For something to happen Oh-something like this There's blood on every bracelet You can see it, you can taste it And it's please baby Please baby please And she says, drink deeply, pilgrim But don't forget there's still a woman Beneath this Resplendent chemise So I knelt there at the delta At the alpha and the omega I knelt there Like one who believes And like a blessing come from heaven For something like a second I was cured, and my heart Was at ease O baby I waited So long for your kiss For something to happen Oh-something like this Light As The Breeze-Billy Joel |
you
I have climbed highest mountain I have run through the fields Only to be with you Only to be with you I have run I have crawled I have scaled these city walls These city walls Only to be with you But I still haven't found what I'm looking for But I still haven't found what I'm looking for I have kissed honey lips Felt the healing in her fingertips It burned like fire This burning desire I have spoke with the tongue of angels I have held the hand of a devil It was warm in the night I was cold as a stone But I still haven't found what I'm looking for But I still haven't found what I'm looking for I believe in the kingdom come Then all the colors will bleed into one Bleed into one Well yes I'm still running You broke the bonds and you Loosed the chains Carried the cross Of my shame Of my shame You know I believed it I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For......U2 |
Devil
Woe to you oh earth and sea, for the devil sends the beast with wrath, because he knows the time is short.... let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast, for it is a human number... its number is six hundred and sixty-six... "Number of the Beast" ~Iron Maiden~ |
"Sister Awake"
when the winter was over she returned there to find him and her memories filled her with light she remembered the beauty she remembered desires and her memories filled her with light i am the sun in the flame cold from the flame turns away and in these winds came a change she awakes... sister walk through these fields of delight but I want you to know desperation's the tenderest trap so gently you go what will it take sister awake when this beautiful cult of desire has left you for dead isolation will cradle the lies of things left unsaid what will it take sister awake and you'll look to the heavens above and taste it's deceit these temptations have blinded desires to sleep at their feet what will it take sister awake and you'll hear them call out your name invoking the fates chances are you've travelled too far in stirring their hate what will it take sister awake awake Sister Awake-The Tea Party |
flame(s)
And every day the quiet clay seemed to heavy and heavier grow So on I went, though the dogs were spent, and the grub was getting low. The trail was bad, and I felt half-mad, though I swore I would not give in. I’d often sing to the hateful thing, and it hearkened with a grin. Till I came to the marge on Lake LaBarge, and a derelict there lay It was jammed in the ice, but I saw with a trice it was called the “Alice May.” I looked at it and I thought for a bit, then I looked at my frozen chum And “Here” said I, with a sudden cry, “is my cre-ma-tor-eum. Some planks I tore from the cabin floor and I lit the boiler fire; Some coal I found that way lying around and I heaped the fuel higher; The flames just soared, and the furnace roared, such a blaze you seldom see; And I burrowed a hole in the glowing coal, and I stuffed in Sam McGee. A little bit more of the poem - "The Cremation of Sam McGee" - one of my favorites! |
