I've gained 2 lbs in the past 2-3 weeks, but I am soon to be done with class and I will be good then!!
|
I'm on an exercise kick but I am far too lazy/x= a million other reasons, to join the gym. I am picking up some equipment. I've still got my elliptical. I picked up some free weights and now I just got the Ab Lounge Ultra. Anyone use home equipment instead of a gym? I think when you add in the old punching bag, I may have a home gym soon.
|
yep, I'm a home equipment kinda guy.
|
What do you use? What's your fave?
|
My favorite thing is actually an impulse buy from probably six, seven years ago off of an infomercial. It's a Body By Jake Total Body Trainer. Easy to use, doesn't take up much room and it actually does work (when I'm not too lazy to use it).
Mostly I'm a free weights guy though. I have probably 250 lbs. of weights (much more than I need anymore) and bought a new weight bench a few months ago that has a leg extension/curl attachment. Been very tempted to buy the Ab Lounge but I know I wouldn't use it. |
I just used it.
OMG ouch. Works stuff I didn't know I wasn't using. |
Be sure not to over-do it!! Start slow so you don't develop a Pavlovian response when you see the weights. :p
|
i have some small weights, a stair master thingy, an ab crunching thingy and an ealstic band. i also liked to just boogey to the dance music channels on the tv. i used to walk in the mornings but i got out of the habbit a few months ago and now that things are better, i haven't gotten back into it. i really should, it was my zen time.
i can't afford the gym and i'd never get my money's worth out of a membership anyway, so i do stuff at home when/if i feel like it. those ab loungers look very temping to me, i may have to look into one after el nino tercero arrives. |
I gave my parents a really nice clothing rack.
They're using it as an exercise bike. |
My best friend's mom has a basement full of all sorts of exercise equipment. Can honestly say I've never known of any of it to be used. Was actually out there when the UPS guy (may have been FedEx) brought the Bowflex machine that she ordered. The look on her husband's face was priceless. He just got up, went down to the beer fridge and yelled, "Anybody else need one?"
When he came back upstairs he said to her, "I think there's room for it over in the corner by the freezer." That was around Christmas probably five years ago and when I was out there over the weekend I noticed the thing is still there, unopened, right there in that corner. |
I'd LOVE a bowflex!
Ok, so I'd just love to be ripped like the guy in the commercial. Um, I said "LIKE"...not "BY". :yikes: |
The Bowflex would be great but I'd much rather have a date with the hottie grandma in the purple bikini who has the "Bowflex Body."
oooops. did I just say that? Hey c'mon she's just flat out sexy! :hot: |
I've been gaining and losing the same 10-20 pounds for the last several months .... making no progress whatsoever .... but after having a day to think about what I was and wasn't doing (on July 4th), I got back to my keeping track of EVERYTHING that I take into my body and being accountable ... with the goal of keeping to 1500-2000 calories a day ... this is my 4th day of doing so .... so just taking the time to say .... I've got my nose back to the grindstone. Will keep you posted when I've got a bit more time logged into the process, but wanted to have a place where people know and hopefully that will keep me honest as long as possible.
Hope you all are doing well in ALL your endeavors! xoxox Fzzy |
I've lost 14 so far with WW but have been stalled for some time now. I keep telling myself to get my stuff together. One thing I am working on is moving more throughout the day. Doing activities that I used to avoid.
fzzzy so glad to see you checking in. I remember you were trying to do soup right? It's harder in the summer I would think. You started with the goal of adding more veggies, how's that coming? |
haven't done the veggie soup for awhile, but have gotten so I actually like several veggies ..... I usually do up about 2 cups of steamed veggies for dinner - usually mainly the Calif. mix (broccoli, cauliflower and carrot mix) with a few stir fry veggies thrown in as well and of course my always well-liked mushrooms. The mushrooms are from a jar, and the rest are just the frozen packages from the store .... then I usually mix all of the steamed veggies with whatever sauce comes with my Lean Cuisine (or whichever brand) dinner ... it's been working that way for me quite well...
I'm working now at adding more lean protein and getting rid of more of the processed sugar/flour carbs and fats. I've been telling myself I was doing that for the several months, but not really doing it in reality, which is why I'm back to keeping track of every single bite. Lil .. So glad you've made progress and hope the continued good work catches up with you VERY soon! |
