Am I just not observant?
 

Okay... now.. I know I mostly lurk these days.. and I don't participate as often as I once did.. and maybe lately I limit the threads I keep current on...

but today.. for the first time.. I have noticed Adult advertisements on the bottom of the page... Is this a new thing? Or am I just not very observant?

Altho I understand the need for such things, I am personally not very crazy about it.. As it is I have to be very careful when I am here since I have a son who walks into my room from time to time and I don't care for his little mind to be warped so early in life... the last thing that kid needs is to walk in and find his mom on an adult site. Before I noticed these ads, this wasn't a problem for I would make a point in staying on a thread listing page.

Now, these ads may have graced this place for awhile.. and maybe it is only now that I am catching on to it... if that is the case.. I certainly need to pay closer attention.

To me it is strange, this new feeling. And it is new to me, too.
Surely a commercial-free site would be nicer.
But I don´t mind. I just want to say thank you that the site exists.
If Kim needs money for OUR server it is kinda ok for me.

Nope they are new in the forum and all placed at the bottom of the pages so they can be avoided to a certain degree. Took me a while to figure out how far not to scroll down. There has always been ads on the site just not in the forums. Many of the other sites I have visited are set up much the way we are now with the banners at the bottom of their forum pages.

Its a job half done without your participation Jenna - but whoever put the "All Petite" ad under the poll results for the ladies perception on size thread, has a sense of humour that I can admire.

If you put ads for penis enlargement bull on the other thread - I'm going to have to look at myself very closely?.

I am glad to hear that I noticed it from the get go... and now I will just have to "train" myself not to scroll all the way down to the bottom..

FYI.... I am using Norton.. and I do see the ads... go figure...

Yes, Jenna, I just noticed them the other day. Like you, I'm not especially happy about them. Hubby doesn't know EXACTLY what Pixie's is all about and until now I've been able to be at Pixies when he's within eyesight of the computer and not worry too much. Now I have to be careful how far I scroll down. But I understand that this is probably necessary for the site to remain free of cost to us users. We'll just have to be really careful now.

I never scoll down that far so I had not seen them, the only thing down there is Admin Options and that doesn't have anything to do with me, I hope hehehe

I see them, and I use Norton anti virus. If they have to be there for the money for the site then ok. The site is what is important, not the adds.

sprinkles, how can you keep pixies hidden from hubby with all our avatars on display?

I have that trouble too denny but there is an option to not show signatures or avatars in your user cp/ edit options area. So clever!

If he walks by the computer, you can always hit the Windows icon and the 'M' key all casual like . . .

My company firewall blocks the ads but I do see where they are as a empty box. I see a title also... but I have yet to see the Watch these men fuck like gods... :p

They are only communicable if you click them with out using protection:p

I don't mind the ads at all :) THey are so far down the screen -- I love reading The Onion online, and they have a banner flashing at the top of the screen for "adult merchandise" usually and it isn't even a naughty site!

Usually he's far enough away that he can't distinguish the avs. But I do have to be very careful of certain ones......the moving ones..you know what I mean. ;) But the ads are very bright and attention grabbing, so I just have to watch how far down I scroll. And when he comes anywhere near the screen I simply switch to another browser window, like Yahoo mail or Bearshare downloads.... ;):D

I see them...of course, I see Elvis sometimes too...
