I have a tree which annoys me at night. It's right next to the window, and scrapes our screen. Very annoying.

Anyway, today I was out looking at some stuff, and noticed berries growing on it.

So, here's some pictures. Any idea?

Take a peek at this.

Mulberry Trees

Gilly---Why don't you take the screen off,take some "long-handeled lopers(sp?)"& lop off the offending branchs?If you don't
have,the proper tool,you can,probably,rent them.They are also
available,at Sears,Home Depot,etc.They are not expensive,& come
in handy, especially if your yard is large!I bought some years ago,
that have an adjustable "anvil",so as the blades wear, you can adjust them. Irish
P.S.A few yrs ago,I bought a large variety of yard tools. In the long run,it's much less expensive, then hiring a "specialist".Plus
you don't have to wait.

Looks like a mulberry tree to me, too. If it is, they can be very messy, but the mulberries sure are tasty.:slurp:

darogle 06-08-2004 07:56 PM

I'll vote for mulberry tree too...looks like the berries should be ripe in about another week or so. They're excellent on vanilla ice cream or in milk with some sugar by the way. :D

Lilith 06-08-2004 08:30 PM

I am a mulberry freak!!! You lucky lucky thing if they are!!!!

That is not what they look like here though. Here the berries are shaped more like elongated blackberries.

vampeyes 06-08-2004 09:08 PM

looked like mullberry to me too but I haven't seen one since I was a kid. Man we used to squash them up and make mulberry jam. YUMMY :D

Kissy 06-08-2004 10:36 PM

Well there you go Gilly, find someone who's in love with the berries and trade them all the damned berries they want if they just chop the thing down! Or at least trim it back.

Lilith 06-08-2004 10:53 PM

Once they are black and ripe....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Gilly 06-08-2004 11:25 PM

Hubby wondered that himself if it was mulberry, but wasn't certain. He had one as a kid, but couldn't be sure.

As for clipping the damned annoying branches, we plan to this weekend. My daddy is coming up to put a fence in on Sunday, and clippers for that tree, and a maple tree that shadow's our drive way. THOSE branches are hanging down far enough to brush our car windshield as we drive in and out. Muay annoying. ;)

Grumble 06-09-2004 03:08 AM

perhaps they are berry annoying :D

LixyChick 06-09-2004 04:38 AM

Always one in the bunch...^^^^^^^

LOL!

I'm in agreement...looks mulberrish to me! The birds love em...and you'll see their love all over your vehicles, sidwalks, awnings, windows...etc! Eeeeeeek!

Gilly 06-09-2004 09:22 AM

Hubby was saying that, too, Lixy. He suggested picking the trees as clean as can be as often as can be. ;)

So, anyone want some berries? :D

Scarecrow 06-09-2004 04:30 PM

Don't let the birds have any berries. You cars will not like it. LOL
