What songs make you weepy?
Here are mine, in no particular order:
The Corgis - 'Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime'; Herb Alpert - 'This Guy's In Love With You'; Johnny Hates Jazz - 'Turn Back The Clock'; George Benson - 'Kisses In The Moonlight' (my first, bitter taste of unrequited puppy love); Celine Dion - Falling Into You; Miami Sound Machine - 'Words Get In The Way' - man, Gloria knows knows how sing them; Terry Jacks - 'Seasons In The Sun'. But the daddy of them all....Frank Sinatra - 'Soliloquy'. Ladies, if you ever want to know what the heck makes us men tick, just buy one of 'Ol blue-eyes albums. He sings the stuff that's in the deepest reach of every guys heart, the stuff that we men dare not even sleeptalk about. But by God, he does dare, and lays it all on the table for the world. I challenge any man, father or not, to listen to this song without getting a lump in his throat. Jaybee. |
Reminder...ole' blue eyes didn't write the songs. He just croons someone else's thoughts.
Weepy~ Vindicated because it's the last song STO and I talked about. |
"Drive" by the Cars. It was oneof my dad's favorite songs.
|
excellent song osuche.....I love that one too!
|
"Drive" is one of my favorites too.
Different songs make me weepy on different days. But Clapton's "Tears in Heaven" ...every single time. |
There is a wonderful guitar instrumental by Tommy Emmanuel (thank you for introducing me to his music P) called, For Those Who Wait. I don't know why, but it just makes me cry...not particularly sad, just beautiful. Also, Amazing Grace played on bagpipes.

Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers. (No disrespect, mistress Lilith)

When I was a little girl, my dad used to sing "The Tennessee Waltz" to me. It was such a sad song, and he sang it with much emotion. I always cried. My dad died many years ago, but I can still hear him singing to me, and it still chokes me up.
