Us Pixies love music. This site is great (I'll warn you, jseal, it's not great for classical). Enter your fave musician/song & go from there.

Aqua 08-31-2006 04:59 PM

I think I've seen this before... very cool!

1nutworld 08-31-2006 06:17 PM

Great STUFF Steph.

I have a feeling I'm gonna be hanging out in Pandora-land for a while.

PantyFanatic 09-01-2006 05:10 AM

I hate to say it….. :hair:

But you did good Steph
:thumb: :line: :D

………...For once.

……….It must have been a mistake

……….Or an accident. :kissass:

PantyFanatic 09-01-2006 05:53 AM

DAMN! You really DID do good (how appropriately named  ) for a change.

Listening to Oscar Peterson & Milt Jackson doing Work Song from Very Tall album. :D

WildIrish 09-01-2006 08:03 AM

I'm afraid to open anything named Pandora! :wobbly:

Lilith 09-02-2006 08:30 AM

I've listened to deano, Sinatra, Nat and Glen Miller all morning :swoon:

osuche 09-02-2006 10:22 AM

Thanks for the tip, Steph!

I have everyone in my office addicted to Pandora...we had dueling stations yesterday

I was listening to Natialie Cole, one was listening to Bjork, one to some R&B, and one to Cure LOL

Deano's mine! Can't have him!

1nutworld 09-02-2006 11:20 AM

Steph,
I can't thank you enough, I've "found" some really good stuff, that I would have never listened to before.

Hollywood Undead, Sevendust, so many others, that pandora plays according to what I've selected.

BIG UP's to you!! :thanks:

Well, you've just made the two of them show up in my sloppy threesome!

Steph 10-14-2006 06:41 PM

I just noticed a "QuickMix" option. It allows you to combine different stations. Even better! :loveshowe

Cheyanne 10-14-2006 10:12 PM

This is awesome! Nickelback, Matchbox20, Elvis, Sinatra! YAY! Thanks Steph!

Fangtasia 10-14-2006 10:15 PM

Bastards *LOL*...was enjoying it til they ask me to register

Cheyanne 10-14-2006 10:53 PM

LOL.. I registered. I unchecked the box to receive emails.. will see what they send that I will have to mark as spam..

PantyFanatic 10-14-2006 11:06 PM

They've been good for me. :D No spam of any kind. Seems you only register to save your "stations" that load up each time you open it. When you check what you do and don't like, it remembers and only slides in new options with your 'do likes'. The 'Quick Mix' is a new feature added just this week.

This has been a great site for me. :) …... (even though I got it from HER :hair: )

Lilith 10-15-2006 06:57 AM

Yep registration has caused me no problems.

Fangtasia 10-15-2006 07:05 AM

It only caused me probs cause i'm not a US citizen *L*

Lilith 10-15-2006 07:09 AM

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that sucks!

I must have had a problem trying to register but I just used 90210 as the zip code, IIRC.

Neige 10-17-2006 08:42 AM

:roflmao: That's the zip code I used too, Steph!!!

Belial 10-17-2006 10:29 AM

Wow Steph! Awesome! :)

I can't believe how much it knows - some pretty obscure stuff there...

Try 20500 when it's a :bs: entry you have to make. They can send to spam to where it won't be noticed. :D

Fangtasia 10-17-2006 01:38 PM

Isn't 90210 Beverly Hills? *LOL*

But of course! :D

I'll use 20500 from now on. It's much faster to type, too!

Steph 11-05-2006 03:45 PM

What's on your Pandora?

I think too much.

I hear a tune that I want to mark or see who a particular player in the group is and automatically send my mouse down to click the Pandora window open and realize I'm listening to the radio for a change. Yep. Pandora has become a habit for me.

(and what's worse, I have to thank the evil one for such a good thing)

Steph 04-19-2007 02:59 AM

some of you may have already received this email

The survival of Pandora and all of Internet radio is in jeopardy because of a recent decision by the Copyright Royalty Board in Washington, DC to almost triple the licensing fees for Internet radio sites like Pandora. The new royalty rates are irrationally high, more than four times what satellite radio pays and broadcast radio doesn't pay these at all. Left unchanged, these new royalties will kill every Internet radio site, including Pandora.

In response to these new and unfair fees, we have formed the SaveNetRadio Coalition, a group that includes listeners, artists, labels and webcasters. I hope that you will consider joining us.

Please sign our petition urging your Congressional representative to act to save Internet radio: http://capwiz.com/saveinternetradio...alertid=9631541

Please feel free to forward this link/email to your friends - the more petitioners we can get, the better.

Understand that we are fully supportive of paying royalties to the artists whose music we play, and have done so since our inception. As a former touring musician myself, I'm no stranger to the challenges facing working musicians. The issue we have with the recent ruling is that it puts the cost of streaming far out of the range of ANY webcaster's business potential.

I hope you'll take just a few minutes to sign our petition - it WILL make a difference. As a young industry, we do not have the lobbying power of the RIAA. You, our listeners, are by far our biggest and most influential allies.

As always, and now more than ever, thank you for your support.

---------------------------
I can't sign because I'm not American but I know Pandora has touched a few Pixies . . .

Lilith 04-19-2007 04:16 AM

done

1nutworld 04-19-2007 07:57 AM

done as well.

osuche 04-20-2007 10:37 AM

Pandora just closed a $6 MM venture round this week, which is good news for them and more likely to signal success and growth of their venture. I want them to stay around for a long time!

IowaMan 05-21-2007 11:23 AM

Just received my form letter from Senator Grassley in today's mail. He appreciates hearing my views and urges me to keep in touch. :p

Steph 05-22-2007 09:27 AM

:(

As of May 15 or 16, I can't get Pandora because they track you by IP now. I miss it.
