Switcheroo

If you just found Pixies would you use a different nick or is your current nick still your very favorite?

Pita 11-15-2006 10:46 PM

As much as I love this nick and have had lots of fun with it I would change it for sure. When I met my Joe he gave me the nickname Pita (Pain in the ass :kissass: ) which has become as much my real name as the one I was born with. I would us it. :)

Oldfart 11-15-2006 10:53 PM

I'm happy with Oldfart.

sodaklostsoul 11-15-2006 11:15 PM

I'm happy with mine.

Neige 11-15-2006 11:24 PM

I think PixieSprite was a name that applied well to me in my teens, and has in fact been my online nickname elsewhere since I was 13. These past couple of years, I recognize myself less and less in PixieSprite.

Since the first snowfall, I've been using Neige as my nickname in chat. Neige, pronounced /nεʒ/, is the French word for snow. It is ME in a way PixieSprite no longer is.

Loulabelle 11-15-2006 11:29 PM

I'm so much a Loulabelle that one of my friends at work, randomly guessed that that was my nickname on the internet recently! However since it's a pretty common derivative of my real name it's hardly surprising.

Of course this wasn't my first nick here so I have in fact switched to my 'true name' from something that was awkward and clumsy.

How about you Lil? Personally I can't imagine you as anything other than Lilith. It's how Fussy and I refer to you in our real life conversations despite knowing your 'other alias'.

Lilith 11-15-2006 11:33 PM

I'm Lilith. Have been for 5 years now. I use that nick online everywhere and would actually like to add it to my legal name.

Loulabelle 11-15-2006 11:34 PM

So when we finally bring junior to meet you, we'll be allowed to call you Lil, then? I just can't think of you as 'that other name'!!!

osuche 11-16-2006 12:00 AM

I don't know that "osuche" has ever been my name...but I am not attached to anything else enough to want to change it

denny 11-16-2006 12:54 AM

While not very clever, I'm not so sure I want to be clever anyway.

Oldfart 11-16-2006 01:12 AM

BTW.

Enquiring minds wish to know, is there an official pronunciation of "osuche"?

Steph 11-16-2006 02:15 AM

I think it'd be quite hard to register as "Steph" on boards nowadays. :)

PantyFanatic 11-16-2006 02:23 AM

My nick still feels good to me. :D

mummy2be2007 11-16-2006 02:32 AM

I am also happy with mine but when I give birth I may want to change it them

dm383 11-16-2006 03:51 AM

I have thought several times of changing mine....... but like a lot of others, this is "me" so many places, it's like wearing an old sweater or something! Besides, how many gen-yoo-ine rodent superheroes do you know?!?! ;)

DM

dicksbro 11-16-2006 04:22 AM

I'd stay with Dicksbro ... probably even more than before. My brother's name was Dick (Richard) and now that he's passed away, I keep the nickname as kind of my simple way of 'letting him know' he's not forgotten and never will be.

Sharni 11-16-2006 04:58 AM

Ya hafta leave to change ya nick?? opppssss

*LMAO*

Lilith 11-16-2006 05:40 AM

Silly girl...

I meant if ya just came here new. :p

gekkogecko 11-16-2006 08:34 AM

I may or may not, but if I did, it would certainly be a lizard of some sort.

scotzoidman 11-16-2006 09:45 AM

In fact, I did try to change my nick shortly after joining (never got a response from Kim to my request)...I felt it was so much a part of my online identity everywhere else, & the fact that it was derived from my real name, & that someone in "real world" might recognize me...so if I was just joining now, I might pick something more obscure, but having been the Zoid for so long, I can't see changing now...

Can't you at least make her sit in the penalty box for a while? :hair:

WildIrish 11-16-2006 10:52 AM

I would stick with mine. Not only is it who I am, moreso than my real-world name, but it sounds so much more intellectual than "goofball". :p

Not really. It stands, as you may know, for Ohio State University CHemical Engineer. But that's not really pronouncable.

Grumble called me "oooh-shah" when he visited and that's the nicest pronunciation I've heard. :)

Perhaps...if I could do it over again...I'd change ny nic to Dominique

wyndhy 11-16-2006 11:49 AM

nope, i'm good

Aqua 11-16-2006 11:53 AM

I couldn't imagine being anything else here.

When I've heard it pronounced, it most often comes out as 'oh-she'. Works of me

(if you ever consider a change :) call me for suggestions :slurp: )

lizzardbits 11-16-2006 04:25 PM

I love my name. I love that my nickname has it's own nickname~~Lizz. "Liz" with one Z is part of one of my real life names. I fits me and my love of reptiles. The only thing that I would change is to capitalize the "L".

Although with the recent move to the UK, it was suggested that I change it to LizzardBrits!

Lilith 11-16-2006 05:19 PM

When in conversation it has happened to come up I call her oh-soo-chey.

Irezumi Kiss 11-16-2006 06:20 PM

Ousche >>

I've pronounced it as "oooshh." I entertained the notion that it was sexy way of spelling a phonetic exclamation of one of the many noises one makes when doing a certain...action...with another body (or bodies). But it's cool to know the genesis of the names here.

Mine is the pen name I use when doing erotica, art or writing...it fits me perfectly. I have thought up other more sillier, nonsensical nicks, but I've been using this for a while now and it suits the general sexual oeuvre of this site.

Scarecrow 11-16-2006 07:09 PM

If I only had a brain I might figure out a different nic as I try the nic Tinman but that was all ready taken. Since this is not my first nic here, I have thought about going back to Lady Pleaser, but not very many people would know who it was. Oh well life goes on.

jay-t 11-16-2006 07:57 PM

nope I'm happy because it is me

Oldfart 11-16-2006 09:57 PM

osuche,

Thank you. That's another question I can put to bed.

Outlaw 11-16-2006 10:13 PM

I would probably stay with this one. I have one name for my general boards, another for my adult boards, and a third for my yahoo groups.

I'm glad you asked and that osuche answered. I never gave thought to Ohio State University much less CHemical Engineer. I'll rest easy tonight. :)

And Irezumi Kiss, I *like* your version. I wish I'd thought of it.

Now maybe we can get back to the really important work, like a cure for cancer, or improving the SOFA design...

Interesting, when I'm moaning it in my fantasies it's "ohH- suckkk"

Glyndwr is good for me, better than my r/l name in fact, perhaps I should change that instead..

Lilith 11-18-2006 07:51 AM

I disagree^^^. It rolls off my tongue just fine.

rabbit 11-18-2006 07:57 AM

I'm "rabbit"...been that since my college fraternity days at Florida State. To this day I'm not sure how/why they hung that name on me...it had nothing to do with sex, as far as I know...but "rabbit" I am.

:D
