I can't seem to get much further than the 800-ish mark either. Not sure why but it reminds me of a combo of Atari's old Pitfall game and Defender. I think it's defender that I'm thinking of, graphics-wise anyway.

must be something about my dinoputer ... i didn't seem to have any trouble keeping my whirlybird in the air ... my brain just didn't like the graphics
