So is this true in your neck of the woods?

IowaMan 05-26-2008 06:00 PM

Nope, it's about $8.99 for a 12-pack of Bud Light here so that's about 6.25 cents an ounce......... $7.99/gallon. Gas right now is $3.84/gallon here. Gotta say though that I do like the sentiment of that sign. :p

Milk, on the other hand, is about the same price per gallon as gasoline is here. :(

Pita 05-26-2008 06:58 PM

Today, gas went to $3.89 and milk was $4.09. It depends on the beer but I would say across the board it's cheaper than gas.

Rhiannon 05-26-2008 07:24 PM

we just hit 4.00 a gallon for gas and 3.85 for gallon of milk..WTF

scotzoidman 05-26-2008 10:16 PM

My woods don't have a neck.

But I don't think the sentiment expressed could ever be quite true...when the cost of fuel goes up, it goes up for the beer truck as well.

You're not suggesting the beer trucks stop delivering beer are you?

We had a situation about 12 months ago where petrol was dearer per litre than Coke.

The situation's here to stay.

Anyone know how to run a Rav-4 on cake?

not true here. even if you buy the sorta cheap stuff by the keg, it still works out to about 6 bucks a gallon. milk is about 4.10/gal and gas is 3.91/gal

Oldfart 05-28-2008 04:32 PM

"Anyone know how to run a Rav-4 on cake?"

FFS nut, it was only one letter.

Picked on, I'm running away to work.

WildIrish 05-28-2008 08:36 PM

I just spent $31.99 on beer that will last me the whole summer.

So yeah, that's definately true! lol

Regular unleaded gas is going for $4.23 a gallon.

I would expect nothing less from you, my friend!

Neige 05-29-2008 10:12 AM

The minimum price allowed by law for beer here right now works out to about 2,68$/litre.

The lowest price for gas in Montréal right now is 1,254$/litre.

I pay 1,28$/litre for skim milk.

Not at all...merely suggesting that the cost of X, when X = anything delivered by truck, is always going to stay a step ahead of the cost of fuel...it's a vicious circle thing...

Neige 05-29-2008 10:48 AM

In Nova Scotia...

The cheapest beer is about 4,64$/litre.

The cheapest gas is 1,353$/litre.

(I don't know about milk.)
