freak

What makes someone a "freak"? What is the criteria for being/becoming a freak? ;)

GermanSteve 04-21-2002 12:56 PM

We had this in a thread "am I a freak" already. In the same way like you cannot define "normal" you cannot define "freak". MY opinion is itīs a crazy person, somebody with strange taste, with a bit of addiction, somebody being rather alone with his way to do certain things, or somebody with weird features.

legend 04-21-2002 02:46 PM

freak: any person who doesn not love Pixies-Place.

BamaKyttn 04-21-2002 08:12 PM

German Steve: Einestine was a freak, then. As was Thomas Ada Edison. Hitler, all intellectual giants, but not mainstream.

Oldfart 04-22-2002 05:11 AM

Freak is a term meaning 'unnatural'.

Anyone can set definitions which can marginalise people for

physical, sexual, ethnic, political or other differences.

Lilith 04-22-2002 12:07 PM

freak=me:p

Irish 04-22-2002 01:20 PM

In order to establish the definition of a "freak";You have to establish the definition of "normal."Impossible!Ones definition is
NOT the same as anothers. Irish
P.S.Different strokes;for different folks!

scotzoidman 04-22-2002 10:37 PM

Back in the 70s, I waved my freak flag high...

Lilith 04-22-2002 10:47 PM

Scotz,
Is your freak flag big enough that I can make a skirt out of it... or would it make a better bandana? :p

scotzoidman 04-22-2002 11:46 PM

Lilith, made it into a tent... care to join me inside...

axe31 04-23-2002 08:16 AM

well i date guys, have long hair dont dress in the right trendy
clothes so im probily a freak

Irish 04-23-2002 09:20 AM

Axe31---While I don't swing that way.As long as you have consentual(sp?)relationships;what gives anyone; the right;to call
you a freak? Irish
P.S.Different strokes;for different folks!

GermanSteve 04-23-2002 02:46 PM

BamaKyttn: Genius and freak are very similar and near, but not the same. The difference is... hm... perhaps... the use of the results of these persons.
Freak has something negative on it, so I am not happy about the ones here who call themselves a freak.

BamaKyttn 04-23-2002 03:21 PM

I'm a freak. I'm not mainstream, I like leather, I like men and women and I like to do odd evil wonderful things to them. Ich bin der schisse! (so my germans a bit rusty... so are the chains.)

Kyttn

Lilith 04-23-2002 03:27 PM

Bama~ I am sure there is room in Scotz's tent for us both!

BamaKyttn 04-23-2002 03:36 PM

raraa 04-23-2002 03:51 PM

or am i one??

mindboxer505 04-23-2002 04:30 PM

Lilith if you are gonna spank all the self-proclaimed freaks.......can I start the line-up ????

scotzoidman 04-23-2002 10:50 PM

Already people lining up outside the freak tent? All riiiiight... freak parade time...

sugarfreecandy 04-24-2002 12:06 AM

Well as a self-proclaimed Oral Freak (and one of the very few people on the site who include 'Freak' in their member profiles) I feel like I ought to jump in and say something on behalf of freaks everywhere...

I think others here have said it particularly well, particularly OF, Irish, and raraa. Basically, there's a distinction we have to make between (on one hand) the use of 'freak' as a derrogatory term, which is what OF was talking about, and what GermanSteve is thinking about; and (on the other hand) self-identification with the term (what Kyttn, Lilith, I, and others have done). I do use the term with my tongue planted firmly in my cheek (oooh, what a nice oral metaphor :p) and I don't honestly consider myself all that far out in left field, but overall I do like what it states about my individuality.

Personally, I take a certain pride in being, erm, 'unique' --- I prefer to be myself rather than altering who I am to suit the constraints of society. To me, my individualism (so long as it doesn't hurt anyone else) will always be a very good thing, even though it may make me seem odd to some people around me. After all, if someone can't respect my quirks, then they're not my kind of person to begin with!

The very best relationships I've ever had (both romantic/sexual and platonic) have been based on an underlying acceptance of and even love for each other's uniqueness.

So, if that all makes me a freak, then a freak I am proud to be!

--- sweetstuff

p.s. I guess I'd better crawl into the freak-flag-tent with all the rest of you... Lilith, you go ahead and spank these guys, and then I'll kiss them better, ok? :p ;)

mindboxer505 04-24-2002 12:12 AM

As the first self-proclaimed society rule breaking freak outside lilith's come-let -me -spank-you tent....i am perfectly willing to help any young sexy oral freaks off their knees.....unless that is where they want to be..!!!!!!

scotzoidman 04-24-2002 12:13 AM

That's me, SFC, I have always taken my Freakdom as a positive trait... started out life being different, decided to make it my forte... when people try to classify, contain, or compare me, I tell them... "I'm not like anyone you've ever known!"

mindboxer505 04-24-2002 01:03 AM

Found our song on the redeye...on vhs1...............by cee-lo.....called closet freak......
or maybe even freakshow on the dancefloor by the bar-kays.......

Grumble 04-24-2002 08:23 AM

I am a nice freak I hope, I will take the oral frak rather than the lash LOL

kyttn could tie me up though you need a bloody big tent scotz ol Bud LMAO!!!!!!!

sadora 04-24-2002 09:10 AM

Well, I am a freak, and proud of it. I don't think of it in negative terms. Just that I don't fit into the "norm"

I have a 120 pound Akita... named Freakylove. Most of the time, he is a big baby, not what the breed is known for. The name fits him.

BamaKyttn 04-24-2002 12:06 PM

Sadora: i'll bet that gets interesting looks at the vets?
I named one of my dogs after a (now ex) b/f.... Seamus... most of my dogs have people names...

scotzoidman 04-24-2002 11:06 PM

It was a BIG freak flag Grumble... made for a big tent, room for all the oral freaks...
