*Nostalgia*
So all this talk of way back when has me wondering what you are missing?????
What is it that you used to have, that you don't now, and miss????? Maybe someone knows how to help you find it...... Mine is space bars or space food...back in the early 70's you could buy them in boxes at the grocery. They were cylindrical and individually packaged ... |
$100 Grand candy bar.
|
My innocence!!
Anyone want to help me look?? |

I think you might find it at a really well stocked sporing goods store...especially one that specilises in hiking and camping. I know that Bass Pro Shops carries it, and Maybe Gander Mountain. I love the Freeze dried Ice cream! |
Hey Lilith!
Try the National Air and Space museum in Washington, D.C.!!!
Last time I was there (1982) they had all that stuff and astronaut ice cream too...it's been a long time but still worth a call to see if they still have it. This marks the first time I have ever been able to personally respond to a request by the Great Goddess Lilith, and I am humbled by the experience. I have commented previously on her wit and wisdom but never have been able to offer her anything. I hope my 2 cents worth is worth something!!! Cheers Lilith!!!! BORU |
Boru~ keep talking to me like that and I wil have a set of cuffs engraved with your name in the dungeon;)
|
Im missing the kind of fun we used to be able to have with out our parents worrying too much about something bad happening to us. You know like during the summer when you could leave in the morning come home for lunch then leave again and come home right before the street lights came on. What happened to those days?

Riding your bike all over the neighbourhood

I didn't think I'd have anything to be nostalgic about but nikanik made a great point. We didn't have to wear 10 pieces of safety equipment to get on our banana seat bikes back then. I'm also nostalgic for the days before we because so litigious. Once that woman sued McDonalds for spilling hot coffee on herself (!), I knew there was no turning back. |
Romper Room???????

I've been looking for these trading cards. They are called "Garbage Pail Kids". .......I think. Anyways, they are kind of a knock-off of the "Cabage Patch Kids", and they are really creepy looking. If anybody has any idea of what the hell I'm talking about, let me know. :gld:

OMG Lilith... Astronaut sticks!!! I loved those when I was a kid... haven't had one since I was 6 or 7. Maybe even 5. I think they were about 4-5 inches long. And pretty slim from what I remember, like a pencil or a little bigger maybe. Nice to know I'm not the only one that remembers those things... ;) |
Clint I have the entire card series. My brother worked at 7-11 and got tons of cards for us. Now if only I could find their movie?
|
My favorite toy growing up.
Rock Em Sock Em Robots and Super Toe Football, that's where you hit the kicker on the head and he kicks the ball. |
Aqua~ that is exactly what I am talking about..........you and me to the moon baby
Coach~ I totally loved Rockem Sockem Robots....our Nintendo:D |
When I was a kid we called it "Super Jock Football"! I also miss my Phantom 4 hovercraft...
|
Glad I'm not the only one who remembers the Garbage Pail Kids. I had some of the cards when I was like five or six and I ended up throwing them away because they gave me nightmares :)
I'm going to get on E-BAY to see if I can find any. |
Does anyone remember;when Playboy magazine;was considered
pornographic;BECAUSE they even showed bare breasts?Big difference;between then and now.I used to steal my uncles;and hide them;in the saddlebag;of my english bicycle so that I could jerk off in the woods. Irish |
Nice to know Irish :)

When my grandfather died, we got his 1959 Studebaker. I learned to drive a stick shift on that car. It had what they called a hill-holder brake. Once you had the clutch in, you could take you foot off the brake pedal and the brake would hold until the clutch was released. Great for starting out on a hill so you dodn't roll back.
It had a bench seat and a "three on the tree" shifter. Every girl I dated learned how to shift gears for me so I wouldn't have to take my arm from around her to shift. |
