Transitions — Grandpa Munster!
Al Lewis, well known in the U.S. for his role as Grandpa Munster in the 1960s sitcom The Munsters, died in New York on Friday. He was 82 years old.
Prior to his role in The Munsters, he played a police officer in the popular sicom “Car 54, Where Are You?”. He also worked on the big screen, including “Married to the Mob”, and “They Shoot Horses, Don't They?” which also starred Jane Fonda. |

There are a few people that are aware of this, but Al Lewis, was also involved in work with the NBA in his younger years and for a while was a scout for several teams before continuing on as an actor.
|
I recall that Al was a semi-regular guest when Howard Stern first started making waves, & saw a clip of them together with Grandpa Munster screaming "F--- the FCC!" with Howard desparately trying to restrain him...

Rest in peace Grandpa. :(
