Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta
 

I've been trying to get pics of the balloons as they fly over our house. Last year was good. This year the prevailing winds seem to be blowing them towards Sandia Peak or elsewhere. Doggone it! The town is jammed with people. The last day is Sunday. We are hoping to go to the fiesta next year. You can see the balloons right after they lift off, from our back yard. a few years ago we lived in an apartment that was under the ballooning path of a sightseeing company. it was a great big rainbow one, absolutely beautiful, and sometimes they were so low we could see the faces of the people on it. whenever we heard it coming, we'd go outside and wave.

The Oldsmobile Ballon Classic used to be held about 45miles from here. But GM dropped its sponsorship and the Classic folded up. Have you seen the ballon shaped like a tennis shoe?

There are beer cans, ice-creams and all sorts of balloons these days.

I have pics somewhere of the balloons back home. They go off in groups on the weekends. Have one of a big apple with a worm on it.

I know this is a bit late...since the fiesta has gone by. But I just found out there is a Godzilla hot air ballon. :) :loveshowe
